This is hilarious. But the LeBatard guys have it wrong. The funniest thing is NOT Russo's rantings & ravings, his total meltdown, etc. The funniest thing is that Russo hasn't the slightest clue what he his screaming about. Russo doesn't understand the interaction of pressure & temperature in footballs, which proves that nobody let any air out of any footballs during that game. He doesn't understand that Mr. Brady's comments happen to be right on the money. The Exponent "experts" hired by Wells are engineering guns for hire. And the reason that it took 4 months to produce that report is that they had to figure out ways to give a bunch of NYC lawyers the answers that they wanted. Here's the proof: Simple numbers. Starting conditions: P1 = 12.5 psig = 27.2 psia, T1 = 74°F = 534°R. (Yeah, I know Exponent said 67 - 71°F. Just one of many intentional or incompetent mistakes they made.) Final temp: T2 = 48°F = 508°R. P2 = P1 * (T2/T1) = 27.2 psia * (508°R / 534°R) = 25.9 psia = 11.2 psig. From the temperature alone, the pressure dropped from 12.5 psig (pregame) to 11.2 psig. (after exposure to 48°F during 1st half). From the moisture, it dropped another 0.2 to 0.5 psig, down to 11.0 to 10.7 psig, depending on the amount of water that soaked into the leather. Everyone on the Colts organization, the referees, the NFL league office thought that this was shocking. Shocking, I tell you.!! The only reason that they were shocked is that they are all clueless about the behavior of gasses. There are about 2 million mechanical & chemical engineers in this country. ALL of the competent ones are laughing at the NFL & this ludicrous fiasco. My experiments put a wet football's pressure at 11.0 psig. Others (e.g., SmartLab's) found 10.8 psig. The numbers above prove that this issue is closed. Nobody deflated any footballs. The temperature & the rain deflated those footballs. Exactly like every single football ever used in the NFL's history had deflated. Exactly like every single football used in the upcoming season (come Nov, Dec & Jan) will deflate. The NFL is going to look like a bunch of incompetent buffoons come this winter, when every team's footballs are going to deflate exactly as the Pats did. __ Goodell's inexcusable act was choosing a bunch of lawyers (Wells, et al.) who have zero allegiance to the truth, whose entire business is getting rich criminals exonerated (look up Wells, Karp & Reisner's bio pages. Note defense of Enron, Banks in banking scandals. Note "FCPA" = "Foreign Corrupt Practices Act".) He chose a bunch of lawyers from New York City. (No bias there ...) The lawyers wanted a "Guilty" verdict. The lawyers chose an "engineering firm" who makes their living giving lawyers the answers that they want. The engineers for hire constructed one giant steaming pile on nonsense to baffle credulous amateurs with junk engineering. Exponent labs had to devise a bunch of technobabble to try to convince people that the balls behaving EXACTLY AS THEY SHOULD HAVE (according to competent experiments) were "tampered with". This is exactly what Exponent lab does: gives lawyers the answers that they want. Russo's entire rant is precisely as clueless as some moron screaming, "You're saying that the earth revolves around the sun??!!! SHUT THE HELL UP.!! The church has dictated that the entire Universe revolves around the earth.!!! SHUT UP ...!!" et cetera. Being a mechanical engineer, I DO understand exactly where Exponent & Wells committed what amount to engineering fraud: they produced work that is incompetent & self-contradictory. They screwed up, in this case, by: 1. Grossly under-wetting the footballs. This is 100% provable by looking (competently) at their own data. 2. Ignoring the fact that the rain water, descending from higher elevation, was colder than the (dry bulb) air temperature. 3. Fudging their inspection temperature. That is, ignoring the possibility that people taking showers, the large number of people in the room & the storage of the footballs next to the (heat emitting) refrigerator could all heat up the footballs by several degrees above their chosen point. They made a dozen other gross errors, too. The worst of which is abandoning their engineering responsibilities & taking their technical marching orders from a bunch of biased lawyers. NO competent, honest engineer would ever think of turning over responsibility for their assumptions to anyone else. Especially not to lawyers. The proof is inescapable, definitive & is shown in Exponent's own numbers & experimental data. Hopefully, the NFL will stop acting like a bunch of petulant children & start listening to some people (i.e., engineers) who know what they are talking about... I'm not really holding my breath for that, tho.

Killua What is stopping you? Short attention span? If you have any sense of justice or curiosity about this subject, you should have written, "I want to understand this". Or should I expect the reply of the irreparably clueless & ignorant: "tl/dr". Should I assume from your "dear god" reply, that you believe the Wells report to be honest & reliable? Are you able to understand simple algebra? Can you read & understand simple graphs? If you can do both of the above, then I can prove (to any thinking person) that the Wells Report is a fraud. If you can't do both, then your opinion is irrelevant. Meanwhile, why don't you propose some CREDIBLE reason that Goodell refuses to release the pressure data that the NFL recorded over the 2015 season for a bunch of NFL teams. I'll tell you the exact reason that he won't: That data proves that every single football, of every single team, "deflates" on the exact same temperature & water exposure schedule as did the Pats (& Colts) balls did in the 2014 AFC CC game. Goodell thinks he can keep that info from being revealed to the public. Just another thing that he's wrong about. your turn ...

Anybody who's listened to the Mad Dog will of course know that his greatness is the amount of sports he knows COMBINED with the passion-and a passiony that is hilarious--lhilariousys instance:The Mad Dog obviously went through the whole deflate gate in detail(and Im sure pointed out how the cheating may or may not be what won him games),and it is indeed silly of Bradys dad to bring it up and try to defend his son--just shut up!(and IF HE DOES WANNA SAY IT,THEN YA GOTTA DO IT IN A PLACE WHERE YOU MUST FIELD TOUGH Q'S!...)....And thats why I laugh at Dan L,Stu Gotts, and his "gang" for making fun of a TREMENDOUS piece of radio--and thats what theyre doing...
