I mostly liked the sermon...but shooting down the 5 languages of love was erroneous in my opinion. They help humans understand other humans...no more no less.

He wasn't talking about the five love languages. He was talking about these teachings that teach that you need to fulfill certain needs in your husband or wife in order to basically do your duty as a spouse. And he wasn't even saying that understanding the needs was bad, but just that we shouldn't be looking to our spouse with this expectation that they have to fulfill our list of needs or we can't be happy. So it's all about the motivation.
