@dan patrick The boiling frog is an apologue describing a frog being slowly boiled alive. The premise is that if a frog is put suddenly into boiling water, it will jump out, but if the frog is put in tepid water which is then brought to a boil slowly, it will not perceive the danger and will be cooked to death. The story is often used as a metaphor for the inability or unwillingness of people to react to or be aware of sinister threats that arise gradually rather than suddenly.

Impossible to understand what Patrick is ranting about. The bottom line is that LIV Golf is a different professional golf product format that has attracted many world class players to its ranks, and the best thing the PGA can hope for now is striking a long-term deal with PIF to share all revenues, all TV contracts, all trademarks, all broadcasting rights, and in exchange, get to remain a very well-funded US-based feeder tour (that would also include the Euro and PGA Champions tours) for LIV Golf. This would mean both the PGA and LIV would get to survive long into the future, keep their current playing formats in place, and agree to never again directly compete their products against one another by staging tournaments on the same weekends head-to-head. This would ensure fans get to see both leagues aired on an agreed annual schedule, but never both on the same weekend.

You need to care Dan--Phil is a generational player like Tiger. Winning the PGA at age 50? I still Phil will go on to be one of the best golf TV analysts ever. Mark my word Dan!

Pure, unmitigated greed. That is all it’s about for Rahm. Nothing more. Just greed.

Dan your love and beliefs on the PGA Tour are antiquated… much like the PGA Tour. The days of treating pro golfers like nothing more than independent contractors, are over. Accept it and embrace it…LIVE and The PIF are here to stay.

LIV golf will be the premier league with the team game eventually coming back to the new PGAT. LIV has 3 of the last 5 major champions. They have 5 of top 10 golfers in the world. There’s no reason for individual players to turn down joining the premier league when the PGAT has agreed to join them. Why would it be ok for the league to take the money but not the individual player?

When the PGA announced they were combining with Liv, I cancelled my PGA ESPN TV, and I haven't watched a single golf event since the announced merger! I'm sure they don't care, but I don't either! Never watched a Liv tour nor will I ever watch one! As far as the players go, how much money do you need, most are rich, and have more money then they'll ever need!

I still play regularly & watch the majors & a few other events but I've never once had a desire to watch LIV & haven't seen a second of their tourneys

He's making a pretty weird argument. There are only a few courses where it's about the golf course and those are usually majors. The majors can invite anyone they want in order to make sure they have the best field. Frankly, the majors benefit from a split of talent so they are the only events you get to see Rahm vs. Rory etc.

There's no merger yet. With any merger someone acquires the other. With Rahm leaving, the PGA is in a weaker position to have say. I think the PGA thinks they have say, but in reality it's slipping away.
