It's amazing how organizations get so enamored with coaches so quickly. Yes UCONN has won 2 in a row. But just prior to that Hurley was on the hot seat. His temperament will not work in the NBA. He will be another PJ Carlissemo.

Don't know Danny Hurley, this would seem like a foolish move to me, unless the money is just undeniable or Coaching the Lakers too attractive to pass up. The pressure to win with an aging Lebron doesn't seem worth it to me.

Dan Patrick will not be orgasmic about Dan Hurley coaching in the NBA like he embarrassingly is now only because he finally has content to chew up his few hours in a year or two. Dan Hurley will be peeing away a legendary career in college coaching to coach an aging bloated superstar and a brittle often hurt AD and a roster depleted of talent that could not beat the Celtics this year in one game if they made it to the finals. Coach Hurley needs to avoid the Lakers like the plague and remember it isn’t the X’s and O’s it’s the Jimmy’s and Joe’s.

For a stupid amount of money sure. Everyone knows that coaching LeBron is like walking on egg shells. And then in LA there is no patience for coaches and players. I would not do it unless the contract is ridiculous.

If the Lakers are going to bring him in I'd move on from LeBron and likely AD, pick up some high draft picks and that way when Hurley comes in he's the leader and he doesn't have to deal with LeBron undermining. I would go good young talent and build the team based on his system, not what I have with some aging vets and a bad bench of veteran players.

Dan ,,,,,,Hurley said 2 -3 weeks ago h was staying, and then Karaban says he'll come back,,,, if he leaves all the players are gonna split, and he destroys what he built with not telling the truth a month ago! He went out in the transfer portal and told players he's be there! BTW you put too much into coaching the Lakers!

This sounds like a hire to develop a culture for the team moving forward. Kind of like Harbaugh to the Chargers. They were one of worst defensive teams in the league (points wise) and with their size, they should not be getting out rebounded night in and night out. Their offense was fine they averaged 118 points per game, second to OKC in the conference.
