Whoever designed the packaging should be commended for their design. The trucking firm needs a tongue lashing for using a truck with a rear lift that is half the size of the pallet to be unloaded. The videos have been very interesting to watch.

Watching from the states, glad to see the cars survived just fine. One question though about Rapido OO products - with all the fine details, it seems a shame to have the crude Hornsby-style couplings. Is this because it is such a standard among modelers in the UK that it would be difficult to introduce more realistic couplings?

Yep that;s pretty much it. Apart from some semi fixed rakes of coaches like the Mark 5 rakes by Accurascale or items from the beginning of steam like Hornby's Rocket every company, large or small, uses the large and crude Hornby-style (tension-lock) couplings. It's just 'the' standard. Although some manufacturers like Hornby or Bachmann have their own close couplings that you get as extra's in the box for building your own rakes. With the NEM standard sockets being implemented across the industry there are a lot of third party options around however, and a lot of modellers use American Kadee couplings for example.

Survived very well. I have an original. Just one moan, on such a fine model, please paint the wheels. The NRM real one had black wheels, not the tan as per other teak coaches of the period. I queried this with them and caught them out. They didn't have an answer to why they had restored them as black !
