I for one think Langer Dan is a good eachway shout in the long distance hurdle at the price. He's obviously a horse who prefers to race in spring looking back through his form, two times former festival winner and still unexposed over the trip, I think he will stay 3m on better spring ground that's not too testing. He's my only ante post bet thus far. I think it's a pretty open renewal this year so I'm happy enough to have an eachway on him

Bear in mind he chased home galopin des champs at his first Cheltenham in the Martin pipe , so if he stays he’ll probably win , it’s not a very strong division

The Grand National as the last race of the season would make a nice full stop/exclamation mark. Sandown could always take Aintree’s spot. The Celebration Chase would probably need axing, but do they need two 2m G1 chases a season anyway?

Dan talks with so much logic. Racing is made so complicated and uninviting, with very poor racing two thirds of the week. I also believe festivals should be placed better, with a distance apart too allow, the very best of NH racing. Racing would BENEFIT more with less race days, and more 4 day week ‘mini festivals’, with much better prize money, which encourages much better quality, for those that follow it. Why not have racing, Thursday to Sunday, on a weekly basis, for example. Also don’t let quality racing ‘clash’ with other race meetings or any major sporting events, make it the SOLE FOCUS, which will bring greater investment, surely 🤔🙏🏻🙏🏻

With the changes to the handicaps this basically means they don't want any plot horses to win at big prices surely this is what handicaps are about if only fancied horses can win then punters will just stop betting it's the thought of beating the handicapper that makes people bet in the first place take Langer Dan last year anyone with any sense backed him to win again it stood out like a sore thumb

If we talking about 3 runs for a handicap mark then pull in sir mark Prescott!!!!! Runs a 2 year old over 5 and 6 furlongs for 3 runs puts it away for the winter and then they win 4 in a row over 1 mile 2 furlongs 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

He's a good man is Dan however he's got it totally wrong about Aintree.... not once was the little man or small trainers mentioned therefore his argument is based on just the big owners trainers/outfits which of course now he's got the big guns he is quick to shout this way, trust me he wasn't saying these types of things 17 yrs ago eh!!!!!! He's basically singing the songs that suits his pockets im afraid..... competitive events are allowed to be won by the lesser lights, those outfits dont have the ammo to target both or more than one major race/meeting.... especially if they've worked all year to get there!!!!!

Dan tells us how big his yard is then complains about the festivals being 19 days apart. Why doesnt he run horses at one festival and different horses at the next.. sure hes the biggest trainer in the world with over 100 horses.. theres not that many races over both festivals..
