She’s from England and obviously that phrase means something different in Britain then it does in America. Another example of this is in Britain a Rubber is a Pencil Eraser while in America a Rubber is a Condom. Also in UK Slang a Fag is a Cigarette while around the world a Fag tends to be used for insulting Gay Men.

There used to be an expression that my Mom used a lot in describing me: "Oh he's so handsome he has to beat off the girls with a stick". It was embarrassing every time Mom used it but she had no idea of the double entendre. She was one of those "never drank, never smoked, never cursed" types of women. I finally told her of the second meaning and she was appalled. She had the last laugh though, the next time she introduced me went something like this "Because he's so attractive, he used to have to beat off the girls with a stick.... now he just uses on hand" ☠
