I got my 2023 XC90 B5 Plus six weeks ago! I love driving it but I haven't noticed an increase in fuel efficiency from my 2021 XC60. Still, I like this one!

Thanks for the comment! The B-series engines provide a little better fuel economy around town vs the previous T-series. The XC90 fuel economy figures are a little bit lower than the XC60 due to the XC90's larger size & weight, but their overall average MPG is very similar! Enjoy the new ride. Here's to many happy miles :)

We got 52 mpg out of ours (long run)

Maybe it increases fuel economy per liter displaced, but there is no net gain in fuel economy at all.

Thanks Dan...certainly helps wrap my head around the operation and function of the B5 engine. Quick question, Is or will the Polestar Optimization be available for the 2023 B5 engine?

Thanks for the comment & question Tim! Polestar is indeed available for MY23 B5 engines.

I have V60 B4 Diesel/Mild Hybrid 2022. After 16.000km I've got a issue with 12 Vol Battery Charging Fault-Stop Safety. After Diagnostic seems to have problem with Starter-Generator Module ISG. Also during that I lose Camera functionality. Start Stop Technology makes every car to last not any longer, Even Volvo know that but they don't want to accept it. Even oil change interval is shorter than normal which Volvo pretend to be every 30.000km. Volvo with B series will be in Serious trouble in the future. So ISG is not a perfect solution. If someone finds me a way to Deactivate Start Stop at B4 series I will appreciate the help. Thanks

So who is going to support these semi ICE cars from Volvo giving their outspoken statements about moving away to EV's 100%. I normally keep my cars + 200k +10 years. So Volvo is off the list for my next purchase.

It is common practice to keep part and support for vehicles well after production has stopped. Volvo still has parts and technical support for vehicles well after they have been replaced.
