Traditionalists have been commenting their upset on this rendition too. Not everyone “get’s it” but I’m a prehistoric rocker LOL. This is THE most powerful rendition of Oh Holy Night I’ve ever heard. This may not be for everyone and each to his own but its epic to me. I'm so glad you did this one as it just came out a few days ago. I love Dan's higher registers but sometimes crave his lower registers and in this one he does not disappoint. "His law is love;" awesome. It feels to me that what happened that night is often portrayed as a pretty little fairy tale; Dan and Victor do not leave that option open for us. Dan's vocals emphasize that it was the Lord of Heaven and Earth and Eternity born that night. "Let all within in us praise His Holy Name!" That's the way to sing "Christ is the Lord!" Like an earthquake! These two geniuses! Merry Christmas, Joyeux Noel, Feliz Natal, Feliz Navidad, Buon Natale, God Jul!

Yep- Dan Vasc is imo the best vocalist on KZbin if not one of the best on the planet! What he does with music is breathtaking and Metal really amps up Christmas songs into anthems! As far as the guitars, Victor seems to lay multiple tracks of guitar and uses different ones for their individual sounds. I saw quite a few negative comments on Dan’s version of this, but I love it. I will say that the earthquake section really startled me the first time I heard it! The more I listen the more I love it! He picked the lyrics that needed that strong emphasis. “All oppression shall cease.” I’m so happy you did this one and, I admit, gleeful waiting for your reactions since I knew what was coming. I hope y’all have a wonderful New Year!

You show me someone who says something negative about this and I’ll show you someone dead inside. And the purpose of the Cookie Monster growl was to support the meaning of the lyrics during that part - “let all within us (praise his holy name)”….meaning that even those with evil in their hearts must acknowledge the glory of the savior’s birth. So the growl is almost like someone so possessed is glorifying god. In other words, it’s frickin’ genius. The last 58 seconds may be my favorite 58 seconds of music, ever. And the arrangement and instrumentation are incredible! Kudos to Dan & Victor. Amazing. #DanVascRules

❤❤❤ Glorious, powerful praise! “ all oppression shall cease ( high metal notes) “ and then “ let all within us ( growl / shake) praise His Holy Name!” I feel that’s Dan’s way of showing us that every demon, every sin … even those within us will tremble and praise Him! I have to say that singing it slow & traditionally in church after hearing Dan & Victor’s rendition seemed kind of anticlimactic and just not as full of praise for Our Lord! -- I also like that he wore his “don’t tread on me “tank , just like in Amazing Grace -- like I’m a believer and this is how I’m praising Him!

First time seeing you guys and I enjoyed your reaction. I must have watched at least a dozen since this came out. It is always so interesting to watch people's faces when Dan releases a new cover. As far as whoever expressed disapproval over one of his previous Christmas Carols (was it Adestes Fideles?), that is perfectly fine. Music is subjective just like all of the arts. Not everyone can enjoy every type of artistry. I would caution them about Dan however. If you prefer mainstream and are not open to completely new metallic twists to familiar songs, you are not ready for Dan. He has completely changed my mind about music since I first heard him do Amazing Grace last April and I have embraced all of his innovative music because he is has the most beautifully trained voice I have ever heard. I admire excellence in our world and his is superior. I hope we can all find music that enriches our lives and adds much joy in this brand New Year! Thank you for your reaction today!☺
