I don't think it's second to anyone. You can point a certain impression and say, he does it better than Dana, but an impressionist does impressions of many people. Dana does great impressions of most of them. Dana, Bill Hader & Jimmy Fallon are the three best impressionists imo.

He's the only one that's himself and just wants to entertain people. I feel like he and Craig Ferguson were the last two who understood why late night talk shows were created and why people loved them so much. Both Jimmy's were and can be funny outside of their shows but when those cameras come on they change. I watched a Howard Stern show with Fallon as the guest and he was a much more calm normal version of what you see on TV. Kimmel used to be funny and honest, almost like a Charles Barkley type of person. But now it's nothing but politics. I don't like Trump, Hillary, or Biden but what I dislike more is people constantly telling me who they don't like. Late night is supposed to be about getting away from the world and having a genuine laugh

Totally agree. I can’t think of anything in entertainment history that has been more quickly marginalized/destroyed quite like late night talk shows hosted by “comedians“. It’s another bit of collateral damage in this era of insane obsession with politics and social issues. Networks care more about skewering any individual or cause they disagree with than actually making shows that are funny. @@j.a.r.family2576 I can’t speak for the guy who posted this originally, but I got the impression that he was speaking of present day. Dave Letterman, Jon Stewart, and Johnny Carson are universally revered as far as I can tell.

But I've watched conan since I can remember I was born in 1990 and some of my earliest memories were staying up late waiting for my dad to get off of work and watching Conan's animal segments and falling in love with his show he shaped who I am and my sense of humor thank you so much for all the years of laughter. Dana's old bits never get old, just more refined. Dana has been my hero since I was a kid...Before youtube I had to watch SNL re-runs, sometimes during the day, sometimes late at night, and I'd only be watching for Dana Carvey skits...I think his acting career kinda suffered from his show being canceled for whatever reason...don't wanna get into it. But I would have loved to see him in movies that are so ridiculous these days...His style of comedy is unique and if he came out with more material probably would have been the greatest stand up comedian of all time. I love that he's just enjoying life. I like the dirty Dana "c'mon man". "Now look back at it and act surprised".

Its goddamn amazing that Carvey is so spot on with a President that you'd never think about being impressionable voice/cadence wise. Its honestly insane how good of an impression it is.

That road kill bit hit home. My dad lived through the great depression and he was told by gramps and granny that if he ever came across a road kill dear to bring it home if it was still warm. Meat was something the family got to eat once a week back then.

DANA'S BRILLIANCE IS OFF THE CHARTS HERE. When he's reeeeaally embedding comedy into the lesson-making... and ON THE SPOT! Unless Andy was 'pre-prepped' to say 'pandemic', Dana's mixture of the science lesson plus the comedy PLUS the 'tranquil and happy' delivery (with the impression)... wow. Seriously. Wow. Whether it was 100% improvised or not! :D :D :D
