Yep, which is a smart business move from him. If it came to Dana, he would've prevented Woodley from setting up a fight with Paul so as to save the image of the UFC because it would look real bad on them if he lost. But since Woodley has been cut from the UFC and no longer in contract with them, Dana has to do his best in playing damage control by painting this image of woodley that he's a has-been and not top caliber anymore.

I don’t see Woodley winning this fight. Paul is bigger, younger, stronger, longer and has good basic mechanics. Woodley fights timidly almost scared. He will have a hard time getting to Paul’s head as Paul does keep his guard up. Woodley also is more likely to get tired if fight goes too long. I see him running from Paul if fight goes more then 2 or 3 rounds. Paul knows how to pick opponents.

MMA is still an evolving sport. Majority of MMA fighters aren't very good or high level at their Martial Arts separately. I believe future MMA fighters will start younger and start developing their martial arts separately like taking some time just focusing on boxing maybe doing some amateur fights and move on to develop a different martial art and so on and eventually mix it up. I think DJ trained something like this which is why he was so great and considered the GOAT for a while

I think at this points its fair to agree Jake is no slouch, however Twood is such a different animal on the feet than Askren. Twood has insane footwork, power, timing, speed, he knows feints very well, ACTUALLY TURNS HIS HIPS, only got knocked out once a while back, but did get pretty wobbled last loss. I know Twood never had a very boxing oriented standup in mma, but hes talked before that hes always wanted to box so who knows how comfortable he is in a straight boxing setting. I just dont see Twood losing this. Only time will tell though

Knowing Tyron personally, I know he got this. Dana has had a weird beef with Tyron since the start. Tyron was literally winning the fight until he got caught by 1 shot against a real title contender. Tyron had a bad last few years. Divorce, millions lost in court battle for his kids & all while being a champion in an organization which showed him 0 love or respect as their champion & in a racist ass world where color of your skin matters more than what’s in your heart. Tyron was/is one of the best 170Lb fighters to ever exist. Show that man the respect he deserves. Respect to Mike for handling this the way he handled it. Most articles about the Paul brothers in combat sports have comments describing how fans don’t care. In fact, many of them are showing symptoms of alienation from the sport. The only time most MMA or boxing fans want to see them fight is if they suffer a brutal beating at the hands of a female fighter. That would serve as a nice warning to them not to joke around as combat athletes.

I somewhat agree with Dana. Askren was supposed to beat jake and only managed to humiliate the MMA community. It can be age, lack of training, downhill of losses or simply selling themeselves.. but the Pauls not only have been very lucky but they smartly know or are advised on whom to take fights. We all know they would never fight a boxer unless it was Floyd for obvious reasons
