Nah Ilia knocked out #1 and #2 of all time in his division, 1 of which was the former P4P king before losing to the current P4P king a year or two ago, and the other is another guy that's been on the P4P rankings pretty much his entire career. And KOed both of them, the latter of which was never knocked down, nevermind KOed prior to this fight. Alex had 3 great KOs, don't get me wrong, but the guys he nuked aren't P4P guys. Ilia's 2024 will go down as an all-time great year in terms of resume.

Max was piecing him up, winning the 1st and 2nd rounds, but with Ilia you can't stand in front of him and expect to stay conscious. Once Ilia wobbled Max in the 3rd he forgot how to fight, rule #1 was you can't back up in a straight line and rule #2 was stick and move, do NOT stand in front of him. Ilia is top of the food chain, he does the same thing to Volk again in the rematch. It's going to be very difficult to beat Ilia because it only takes one from Ilia and the odds are he's going to get at least one in a 5 round fight. Max had the right game plan, and he looked great until he got caught. Jai Herbert dropped Ilia and was about 3 seconds from stopping him, and Ilia ended up knocking Jai out cold, but that's about the only way you're going to beat Ilia, because you aren't going the distance unless you're Josh Emmett who took an absolute beating. Fighter of the year award goes to 4 guys, Alex Pereira, Ilia Topuria, Islam, and of course the one everyone forgets about Dricus Du Plessis who has literally beat everyone, and far more active than Islam.

I really wanted Max to win, but i bet on ilia because it really seemed like this would be the outcome. I was one of those people who thought Ilia was really cocky, but i think he's just generating interest in the fight. Because after the fights you always see his true colors. Very classy in victory. First time max has been finished he should definitely take tome off and then move up to 155 . He's still my favorite fighter, he's a class act. Ilia was very respectful in victory.
