Well, the money would have reflected his skill level and legacy. 30 million plus back in ppv cut plus fighting Brock at Cowboy stadium would have been legendary. Fedor just wanted to take the cowards way out and fight for 2.5 million a fight against lesser competition. It ultimately resulted in Strikeforce being sold to the UFC because they couldn't make enough money off the small gates. Dana White was shocked because they courted him very heavily. Then they were prepared to pay him more than Silva, GSP, and Brock put together. Then they were letting him do Sambo and all this other bs he wanted. So yes, after all that and he still turned the deal down shows that the guy wanted no business with JDS, Cain, or Brock. Becuase Fedor's team knew he would get beat on three times and be out there.

Talked down on strike force for being a joke but once steikeforce merged with the UFC, strike force fighters held the welterweight, middleweight, light heavyweight and heavyweight championships. I would say ronda with the women’s belt but the ufc made a weight class for ronda and literally gave her a belt before be she a fight booked. How did he run from the major leagues? PRIDE was by far the largest MMA league in the world, whereas the UFC was bleeding money. Fedor dominated the best ranked heavyweights in the world, won the PRIDE HW title, won the PRIDE 2004 GP, beat about 5 former UFC champions, and has over ten wins over top ten ranked opponents. Is Fedor greatest or not, that's debatable and it's not that important. His legacy is much greater, values that he represented was miles from banal discussion like "he would beat blabla..." To get back to Fedor: Yeah, he was unbeaten for like ten years. He fought some legit competitors. But still the fact remains, that his record was padded with guys, who were obviously far away from being top level competition. Guys like Gary Goodridge, Yuji Nagata, Randleman, Naoya Ogawa, Kohsaka, Fat Zulu, Mark Hunt (who was far from adapted to MMA back then), Hong Man Choi .... many of these guys were popular in Japan, but not impressive as far as their records (long and short term) went.

@Danielson184 Mark Hunt had won the k1 title back then and was supposed to be one of the best strikers out there and Fedor outstriked him. Zulu was 15-0 all wins by ko or tko. Do u think its a big difference in ufc:s heavyweight division? Who did Carwin had to beat for titleshot? Mir? Who did JDS had to beat? Nelsson? Who had Lesnar beat? 50 years old couture?

@greken145 was not only rua he lost 2 from Aug 05 to oct 07 he lost 6 out of 10 fights his record was pretty good before that but again the names were not that big

fedor's greatness can not be questioned. he beat the shit out of top guys from all styles as well as out the very top mma guys. PRIDE had different format. great top fights, superfights, special fights and great rules. they had everything. the great thing about fedor is that he managed to beat the best in a span of 10 years. usually HW fighters don't stay on the very top for more than 2-3 years. he is the alpha male of the 2000-2010 mma era. now it's JDS,cain, cormier, werdum and overeem's time.
