Vetra is a hardened Turian whose no stranger to "taking shit from assholes or...being one".she's been in her fair share of danger, but this occasion is one in which she truly vulnerable. Each word is followed by a heavy breath as though the weight on her chest to express her true feelings is more than she's ever been able to bare. Her hand gently nudging Scott's hand, for she longs for him to accept her feelings. Her little lie how she'd be fine if he didn't feel the same way. Her last line about how it seemed so unlikely he'd accept her serves to drive home the anxiety that had swelled up within her when she dared to ask him if it's "real". That same anxiety carries over into the seak fiasco. This was masterfully executed and offers great character development.

You can ask him about dating...just once during the entire game, and he doesn't shoot down the idea or make fun of you for it. I love Vetra, i romanced her in my first playthrough (waiting for more patches before i replay for the second time) but she has one of the shortest romance sequences of the Tempest crew (Suvi also has a very short romance). I was hoping for a more substantial relationship build and more unique sequences exclusive to romances. But alas, at least i got to find out that Scott Ryder wants to be a space princess. So there's a win. :) It seems like the Cora Romance got the lion's share of attention, with Liam's coming in a close second and Peeb's in third. I guess they gave attention to the Human's because most players will choose humans or Asari (as they are basically human with head fringe)... it's shame that equal attention couldn't be dispersed among all tempest romances.

It's not the first time they've done that crap. The whole of ME1 unable to romance my beloved Tali and getting Ashley shoved at me. That's alright, I said as I left her on Virmire, Kaidan's cooler anyway! ;D We can only hope that future games or DLC will have deeper convos and more stuff to do with Vetra like that later games had with Tali.

Yeah the romance favoritism is annoying as shit. It made me mad in ME3 when they gave Liara's scene this unique symphony music with floating biotic nudity, meanwhile anyone else just wakes up spooning with Shepard. And now that they wouldn't give more to other characters, especially Vetra, continues to annoy me. Hopefully they don't dumpster certain romances again like in ME3... but they seem to be ultimately leaning in the correct direction.

True, you're right Eddie, but the sheer amount of TLC given to Cora is outrageous. Her culmination scene is ridiculous with amount attention it receives (when they kiss their lips actually bumper and roll over each other realistically, the subtle nuances in her expressions in the midst of passion, not to mention the sheer amount of nudity and thrusting...). I know folks get upset when comparing DA:i with Mass Effect, but the same developer made the games and i don't care about different teams working on different portions of the games and what not since DA:I was lauded as an amazing triumph for soooo many reasons and won so many awards.. why wouldn't they build on their previous successes? Everyone loved the complex relationships in the romances and brilliant relationship building overall. The exclusive moments one had with their chosen romances were satisfying and varied. With the silly tweets from the Bioware team gloating about their Mature Rating and teasing their followers with jokes about how you can Captain Kirk your Pathfinder with alien romances before release.. the results are rather deflating.

Even though I've already done just one playthrough, Vetra was definitely the one I wanted to truly romanced, and hopefully onwards towards the future. Her caring personality, troubling but sympathetic backstory, and (really) sexy voice were attractive traits towards me. Peebee probably would've been fun to do, but I personally didn't wanted to do another romance with an Asari like I did with Liara in the original trilogy. I sadly have no desire to romance human characters like Cora, they don't interest me like the other aliens do. Here's hoping for another saga.

There was a price reduction on Steam a few weeks ago so I decided to but the game and discover it myself, to make my own opinion about MEA. I discovered the original trilogy last year and the original games became my favourite gaming experience in my life. I didn't try them just because one of my brothers told me they were "average", damn if I didn't try them myself I wouldn't have ever known this universe. So I told myself that I should look at MEA myself, even if it's hated. The game was... good and bad at the same time, I wanted to like the game but the story felt so wrong and regrettable to me, some phases of exploration were annoying me. I mean, graphically, the game doesn't look very good (the characters I mean) and graphics are important in video games. However, their personnalities were good. And when I first met Vetra, I already liked her. It didn't feel like Tali but... I don't know, there was... something. Vetra felt more like Mass Effect than the others : it's a good character. And to me, characters were the great force of Mass Effect. I didn't fell in love with her like I did with Tali, but I think I really liked Vetra. Didn't regret one second romancing her.

She is easily one of the best romance options paired with a likeable, grounded character that is ultimately squandered with short screentime, dialogue and a romance scene that's just a lazy fade-to-black ala Garrus and Tali.
