Am I the only one who thinks Strong was BOS before he was turned? All of his 'human help humans' and 'super mutant helps super mutant' thing sounds a lot like the Brotherhood's outlook on life. That and the love of fighting. Heck he might be the original Dance that was kidnapped and had his mind copied. I assume the Institute doesn't bother dumping the mutants back where they found them, so it's possible he's from the capital wasteland. There's also the 'milk of human kindness' thing. Maybe a surviving part of the original human that was Strong felt some sort of connection to the phase?

Danse is his own person, there was no 'original' Danse, he's a runaway synth but doesn't know he's a synth, chances are the Railroad helped him with the mind wipe but did not opt for facial reconstruction that's why Quinlan identified his pictures on the Institute data, probably gave him memories of scavenging for junk as a kid then sent him in the capital wasteland, where he met Cutler and got recruited in the Brotherhood of Steel.
