Just remember, Larian has sort of come out and said the companions already released are among the Neutral/Bad variety. This is because most people for their first playthrough tend to go good and keep good companions. Knowing this, they want people to experience some of the harsher characters before the game is fully released.

Yeah it's actually a pleasant surprise to see such "human" characters. Although she's listed as "neutral evil" and worships a goddess of Darkness, the way she talks about her worship sheds a new light on her kind. They see the darkness as a comfort that provides when nobody else can. They see darkness as a brutal and intimate honesty whereas light is full of illusion and lies. So from their own perspective they're not that bad, and managing to romance her means that she sees you as a kindred spirit.

@@kevintran7208 Neutral Evil enjoys with the act of doing evil things, they are the worst of all alignments, even worse than the chaotic evil. The alignment of that npc is not right by the way she acts and thinks. The game overall doesn’t understand the nature of D&D game mechanics and still they try to implement them.

@@jegeization I would disagree with your first statement, I think Shadowheart's neutral evil is perfectly demonstrated in how she'll kill innocents to achieve her goal but not excessively or for the sake of killing. And I would also disagree with your second point, I think Larian is doing a great job of both portraying and challenging alignment ideas and I think this will contribute to the game's nearly universal success. But if you personally don't enjoy their interpretation (which can be considered homebrew btw) then that's fair, but it doesn't mean they understand nothing just because they don't agree with your ideas.

Shadowheart is just a baby! She gets inspiration saving kids :v and her words are just filled with fear because of mindflayers. Her unique bad thing is that she hates Lae' zel too much and doesn't give her a chance. They are more similar than they think

Hopefully a lot of the character expresions and models will be polished when the game is fully released. Maybe it's because I'm used to silent protagonists in games like Fallout,Kotor or even the original Baldurs gate games, but I really just prefer it that way. It's rare for me to find a voice I can tolerate for a 40+ hour game. It's much more satisfying to read dialogue and use my imagination as to what I'd want my character to sound like.

I'd say the character models are well designed and detailed, but animation and facial expressions are sadly on the level of dragon age inquisition at best - and that's a game from 6 years ago. I guess in a game like baldurs gate pretty animations during dialogues and cutscenes aren't that important - you kind of have to use a little bit of imagination to fill in the gaps, just like in bg1&2 and any other d&d.

@@thanknamine1862 No, you can only play in the first area and a bit in the Underdark but that's still a lot of content doing everything for the first time will probably take your about 40-45 hours. This is a huge game and the early access really feels like it's only scratching the surface.

The voice acting is straight up a 10. As for the writing, the caracters feel like they could be real people, or the cast of an anime, cause they're all so quirky. And while some animations are a bit off, holy shit the non-verbal language is simply the best i've seen in any game, the aggression of lae'zel, the aloofness of gale, the way you can visibly see shadowheart (I cringe just writing that name) get all defensive when you pry, it's all incredible.

@@KingShakakil i think you might need to know his secret by that point, which takes very high approval and sufficient numbers of camping trips. i had High and hadn't even had to give him an artifact yet and only got a "bedtime story tomorrow" dialogue and no bunk option.

Hm... It would seem they went and made every character bisexual so as to appeal to the woke mob of inclusiveness. Having every single character be bisexual is, slightly immersion breaking. I mean, I understand it to a point, there's plenty of times in games I wished i could romance a lesbian girl as a male, so, I can understand people want to not be locked out of a romance. But it just, idk, it breaks the immersion when -everyone- wants you -all- the time, doesn't feel genuine or earned imo. But, I guess I can't complain too much. However, this romance thing is kind of silly. The game is covered with a underage warning, prohibiting children from playing or viewing this game, because of nudity, however, there's absolutely 0 nudity as evident by the -only- female human interaction. kind of a let down. Everyone is bisexual and theres no nudity at all yet the game is restricted anyway. How odd. Whats the point of a romance system if theres no nudity? what is this the Sims? And no, its not because im trying to fap to a video game, but if your romance tree ends with an off-screen unseen kiss, it was a waste of time. Would you bother trying to impress anyone in real life if your only reward was a text message kissy face? Cuz thats what we just got, an off screen kiss lol and that was it. I'm not expecting them to break out a cock and start fucking but, come on man, theres 0 nudity, like at all, not even sexy outfits. My complaint is that, this game is -extremely- tame, and definitely seems like it was aimed at children. Yet, its restricted from children, because of "sexual content" and "nudity" that doesnt exist. The fuck is going on here? Is it aimed at children or not? And couldn't you just put an option to turn off nudity and blood and bad language, instead of censoring -everything- for -everyone-, let the mature people have their adult content and let the children be locked from it, I dont get the point of censoring everything for everyone.

Were you really moaning about lack of nudity in game where most romance scenes have under development placeholder? In EARLY ACCESS? Go look at Minthara romance, maybe you'll find something you like, apparently Shadowheart is written to not throw herself at you. And I don't think it's wokeness, I guess it's just what you yourself wrore - that sometimes you would liie to romance someone and you can't. I also don't like that all of them are bi, bit I also don't like it that they would go to bed with all the races. Well not really dislike, more like it sounds silly. But then less romance accessability. Sexy outfits? Really? Do you mod your games with chainmail bikini :D
