"That" was a Yakutsk folk song. That special tribal riff was achieved by vibrating the larynx and is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia and other parts of Asia. Further youtubers have commented that it is used some parts of the Middle East. It is also referred to as a "glottal stop" and used in English when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh youtuber commented: Dimash used singing kazakh technique, that called 'komeymen aytu', You can hear it from the Turan Group. Saha people ( Rus) uses this technique too, they called it 'kylyhah'.

The technique is definitely part of the Kazakhstan and Central Asian tradition but it is not exclusively from that area. It may also be practiced by Slavs but I have no knowledge of that one way or another.
