The whole fuss was never about them dying or being killed by this clowns. Fans and average gamers got Rocksteady's "big totally unpredictable twist" back in season one. It was about Rocksteady's attitude towards the Arkham verse (the series who made them legends with their free-flow fighting mechanic) and some characters. It started even back in AK (Deathstroke's WOT, AK "secret, Hush and Azrael's flop etc) and this game just ruined the whole thing in the name of marketing. If it was a separate game in every other universe like Gotham knights, people would have just ignored it. But much like with Spider Man 2 from PS5 they had to add some humiliation to already established through the previous games heroes to make the new ones look better (the FRIDGE and BENCH memes at heir finest).

Yeah, love how Rocksteady at first were "all serious about the whole killing JL stuff", but now they're nervously wiping off their asses from the shitload they've made on their best verse with a weak and "tOtALly unExpeCted" happy ending. Sure, after that there's nothing you can do to revive this series - so many f*ck ups with lots of characters plus tie-in woke-up thing really wasted arkhamverse better than Brainiac.
