Me Too! I've pretty much given up hoping for that All Consuming Romantic & Dependable Love! I've been divorced twice. Both times were really bad situations, the only difference is the 2nd one it didn't take as long for Everyone around me (Including my then 10 year old daughter to know something was wrong) my 2nd husband was using my medications to Over Medicate me. By the time my parents were notified, I was so weak I couldn't walk and someone needed to bring over into the Parish where my Dad worked because he was Law Enforcement. I was taken to the big hospital and my parents and my Dad's Lt. were waiting when I got there. I spent 4 days in the hospital trying to get my medication levels worked out. My Divorce was Finalized in 2005. I've dated 1 guy in the town we're in now and that didn't go well either so I broke it off. I've been Single ever since and to be honest I have mostly been okay with that. I finished raising my Daughter. Then I started having health issues again so it didn't really seem like a huge priority to find a boyfriend. 😊🤣😂. Now my 3 Grandchildren take up a lot of time.

I don't think the romantic type of love is special. And I am started to think that the romantic type of love isn't real. I mean about more than half of romantic couples either break up with each other or divorce each other, while most platonic best friends remain friends until death. I think that having a platonic best friend is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse is. Having someone who's like a sibling to you is a lot better than having a romantic partner or spouse. Also, you are more likely to be much more closer to someone who's like a brother or sister to you than you would be with a romantic partner or spouse. People tend to fight with their partner or spouse a lot more than they do with a platonic best friend, and you never fight with your best friend the way you fight with your partner or spouse. Partners and spouses are just temporary. If you break up or divorce them, it's hard to go back to them.
