I’m an introvert too, and I’ve never felt comfortable swimming in an extrovert rich line of work. I recently made a spontaneous decision to get out of the military, after experiencing very poor mental health. I can really empathize with how you felt - stuck, not being your authentic self, etc… Things will always get better. Don’t look back, keep moving forward to your next big thing!

Thank you for the kind words :) It's definetly an extroverted world that we live in. Hopefully you can find something that suits you better. Honestly I always think it's worth quitting if your mental health is severly impacted. Quitting was the only thing that got me out of feeling that way It is really looking up for me at the moment, I just need to decide whether to go part time in a different line of work or do full time again. Hope things are looking up for you too :)

How are you feeling now after quitting? Are you just taking time out to recover or have you already started looking for other jobs? I am in a similiar situation as you but hard to quit because of....money. What can you do? Right now, job market is not good so I am just holding on for dear life.

Hey, so far I have taken a month out, I kept my money really tight the last 6 months of working to save up, I would recommend around 6 months living expenses in savings, so that you have time to find something new. I am in the process of sending out some applications at the moment and have decided for myself that I am doing something part time for the moment while I navigate through this burnout, just to cover my basic living expenses and when you quit living expenses reduce slightly because you don’t have to travel to and from work. And I am slowly trying to build some other income streams online, so that I am not dependent on one single income stream. But that takes some time ☺️

@@muhammetyoutube When I first learned English honestly watching KZbin videos in English helped me so so much and travelling to other countries where you can speak English helps, practice is key :) You can also see if you can watch any of your favourite shows in English and watch them with subtitlesin Turkish if that helps. I have also heard that Duolingo is great for the basics :)

I am so sorry to hear that 😕 I hope things get better for you! I think it is really important to listen to yourself and if your mental and physical health is telling you to leave then it might be time. But definetly try to prepare for quitting and save up a bit before you leave. I just filmed a video on when to leave and how to go about it 10 min ago and it will be up on Thursday, you don't have to watch it but I thought I would mention it in case it might be helpful ☺

@@DanasDiary. hasnt gotten better at all. with regards to savings, i have been preparing from the last 7 years, so am ok with that. And i didnt know my anxiety was this bad. Physical symtoms have been there years ago, just didnt think it was the stress and anxiety. Lack of sleep, digestive issues

@@hanifjones4914 I am sorry to hear that, have you handed in your notice yet? Wow, 7 years, I can't belive you managed to stick it out for that long! Yes, I think it takes some time o realise that it is the stress that is causing all of these issues. I am glad you managed to figure out what the trigger was. I think now it's important to be kind to yourself and really take a proper break. It's fine to look after yourself and heal :) Digestive issues really seem to be a common theme with work anxiety, I have heard from several people that they struggle with it as well. You are definetly not alone and it will get better if you put yourself first for a little while now ☺

@@DanasDiary. Well i've been there since 2010, it all hit me in 2012, thats when the anxiety took a turn for the worse. Just figured out the cause of symtoms 2 weeks ago. So i've started preparing since then, but it took awhile. Life has its curve balls

@@hanifjones4914 oh wow, did you stay in the same job all this time after 2012? Finding out the cause ist the first step and so crucial. Wishing you all the best healing! I still have lots of healing to do myself. I am thinking of starting therapy once I have a bit of an income again. Watching KZbin videos has helped me so much so far (just to figure out what caused me to burn out). Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to comment and share your story with me ☺️
