I've been asked about Danava a lot and I'll tell you they're from Illinois and they came to PDX the year after I married JR. I first heard of them when she came back from their first show. I named them I, Dany's Queensguard and the Khalisar - this was the same year Eliot Smith was murdered - and Danava raged much like Heatmiser. Glass Candy is my favorite Weird Portland band - but who can deny Danava are the heaviest - the darkest dragons of Dany.
