너무 아름다운 풍경이네요. 직접 보셨으니 더 감동적이었겠죠? 저는 늘 이어폰 끼고 보는데 바람소리 눈내리는 소리, 화목난로,.. 식기류 달그락 거리는 소리, 정확하진 않지만 무시동 히터에서 바람 나오는 소리 마치 현장에 있는 것 같은 느낌이었어요^^

I will give you two thumbs up for camping close to real shelter. I spent 3 years in the US Army starting in 1973, people who go out on their own into the wilderness and camp in tents are crazy. I was in the infantry and if I or any of the other solders around me had a choice, we would have left the army and joined the air force. The only way I will go camping is in a giant, giant, giant RV!

What a super good video again about (to me as an owner) my Hilleberg Atlas use in wintertime. But my main questions are now: how did you like the incoming snow at the open top for the chimney? Was that not a bid of a problem or was there not so much snow coming inside and only at the one place small enough on the floor to live on the dry place in the tent? (Using an small tent inside is a good idea of course as you did.) But still if it snows all the time? Did you close it more around the chimney while sleeping or totally? Was it really an advantage because you had the heater anyway? Or was it to try and be more filmish better to show with a fire which I can imagine. My hot tent comes with a fire resistant insert that zips into place of what would otherwise be a large opening. Doesn't Hilleberg do the same?

@@onnonugteren2935 Thanks for the reply. I don't understand how reducing the influx of rain/snow is 'old fashioned'. It is just a matter of preference. If it's very cold and windy and I want to keep the heat in, or there's precipitation, I'd prefer limiting the rain/snow. Looking online, the hot tents I see (I've not seen Hilleberg advertised), all the hot tents I've seen have some sort of fire resistant material where the flue exits.

Nor me. :-) I like heating a tent although I am against wood stoves for environmental reasons, only when it is really necessary it is allowed. ;-) I try to be modern. 🙂 Friendly greetings. @@gregparrott

@@onnonugteren2935 I visited Hilleberg's website. They are a top quality tent manufacturer. Their website shows only one model of dome tent - the Atlas. While the Atlas is modular, Hilleberg does not advertise any accessories for hot tent applications. Also, none of the many photos of the Atlas in use show a stove being present. Therefore, my conclusion is that the opening shown in this video is intended for increased ventilation. While it is fine to pass a flue through a ventilation opening, there are two shortcomings resulting from the lack of a fire resistant insert: #1) If a stove is in use, more wind and precipitation may enter the tent than is desirable. #2) If high winds move the flue appreciably despite supporting guy lines (which I've experienced) and a hot flue contacts the tent, serious damage will occur. But if a fire resistant insert is the point of contact, there is no issue. I mention this as a counter to your assertion that having a fire resistant insert is 'old fashioned'. If I had a Hilleberg and used it with a stove, I would buy a sheet of fire resistant material and fabricate an insert, both to protect the tent and limit the entry of wind/rain/snow.
