Hi just found your channel ,great vids and interesting. I am wanting to by a campavan for solo treks but worried about buying the wrong one . i would be very interested why the VW no longer suited your needs as it seemed perfect for you and able to do what cars can do ,albiet theyre so damn expensive .was the layout a pain compared to your new one??

Hi! It was more the fact it’s a lot of van to not be used for a while as we have a lot of exciting trips and work things happening, we wanted something smaller. There were a couple of layout things but they are probably personal preference, for me, once the bed was out, it dominated the whole living space but that’s because I like to lounge 😆, hopefully the fact I won’t have to do anything with the bed on the new one should be easier for me and I hardly used the oven so there is no need for me to have one, little things like that. Picking a van is personal preference as you will have different needs but there are some considerations like how easy is the bed to make up, what’s the storage like, does the toilet store inside the van etc. have you had a van before? I would say put in lots of research and think about how you may use the van, so you want something for all weathers rather than something that relies on having to be outside to have space, do you want something small with a pop top so you are not restricted by height barriers or are you happy with a van you can stand up in. Maybe head to a show and look at some layouts 😃

Very similar to my old T5 although I did swap for a single seat, I miss the way it was my daily and my camper all in one but I don’t miss the portaloo at the end of the bed…. ‘Nuff said. I prefer Pat the new van.

Haha yes!! The toilet squeezed in at the end of the bed 😆 I used to secure it to the back of the double seat with a bungee cord for travel
