Caden Slocum any dj app is „okay“ to use but u cant compary an app to a controller because its simply not the same. Using an app might be useful for learning about the beats, music-sounds and different types of effects etc but if u want to learn real dj-ing u need an laptop + a controller (even if its a small one for the beginning) :)

Is there a rekord box version of this controller? And can one use the mixer as stand alone? With for example Cdjs, just incase the laptop crashed.

No, the only one that would come close is the DDJ-1000 (4 channel)

4ch and standalone in this price segment. The best is probably the Denon MCX8000 @ £800 approx. The next step up, the totally awesome Prime4 is £1400 so nearly double.

esteban martinez he used the sampler. So he changed the sampler-sounds on that track to a certain point and pitch to make it sound like the other melody. Got it? :)

Some controllers/mixers have pitch play/keyboard mode. Basically lets you take a cue point in a song and maniuplate the key of it so you can play it like a keyboard
