as someone else said, San had zero dance experience before joining Ateez, in fact his company refuses to release his audition tape because apparently it was that bad. Something I can't even fathom while watching this, he's truly poured all his blood, sweat and tears into dancing and it shows. To become this good in just a few years is crazy to me. You can tell how much love and respect he has for the art of dance. San is very good at krumping, I believe it's something he specialises in actually. Ateez in their group choreographies like to incorporate krumping a lot, most notably in their choreo for their song HALA HALA. I'd recommend reacting to that one and also San's fancam from it. His fancam went viral and currently has over a million views. Out of all the members, San is the best at krumping and his skill really shows in HALA HALA. Some kpop fans like to rag on him and say he "does too much" but I've always thought he danced like professional dancers do, he has very good body control, he knows the right amount of power to use for each move, he always adds his own little details to every choreo he does, he has great musicality, isolations, etc. But just because he doesn't care about looking perfect and put together all the time onstage like you see a lot in kpop, people belittle him. It's a stark contrast to all the actual dancers always praising him and an example of how people like to jump on the hate train just because others are doing it. Anyway sorry for the rambling haha, thank you for appreciating San and his talents! This was a very informative video and I definitely learned some things from it. I hope to see more Ateez reactions from you!

@@nicolefreeman9963 yeah I immediately know these people have no idea what they’re talking about when they say San is just “flailing around” when he dances because that couldn’t be further from the truth. The amount of control he has over every limb is crazy and it’s very obvious if you actually >look

@@nicolefreeman9963 It's because for the past few years, specifically since the 4th generation started, kpop idols standards have changed to only look pretty on stage, and complaying to korean beauty standards regardless of their real talents! that was made by big companies in the kpop industry to monopolize the industry and have domination.. So the groups and idols from these big companies will hold a fame and power at the end of the day since their companies already managed to "change" the standards... In result, fans have built a specific image of the idols in their head, so whenever someone will start to act and perform as a "real idol" like in past standards, it would only looks weird for them.. However, I can say that Ateez now started to have impact on these standards although they're from a small company, but they have entered the industry as a "competitor" and catched the attention of big respected artists on the industry such as Psy, Jang Kook, kim Youngdae (known music critique), Lim Young Woong, Choreographer Kim lee (she prized San specifically when he was trainee)... They bring back the live singing, the real performance with full power, and the indiviuality of each member style rather than only following the choreo blindly... Specifically SAN who has solidifies his "own style" in performing on the stage in which he cares to tell a whole story and put a soul to his performance.. Now a lot of idols are trying to follow his steps either rookies idols or with his same age, and even his members said they learnt a lot from him.. I have been a kpop fan since 9 years, I can say that amomg all 4th generation groups Ateez are the only all rounder group and the real idols.. They put their blood, sweat, and tears on their work, they work 10x harder than other groups in 4th generation.. But some other groups had entered big charts and won big awards easily after ONE YEAR of debute and they're not half talented even, on the other hand Ateez had it harder to get these awards after 4 or 5 years of work.. They deserve better and Im sure they will made it to bigger places someday..

The tattoos are not real. San has one near his knee. It says Amicus Ad Arus which means a friend till the end. Another member, Wooyoung, has a matching one. Fun fact: San joined the company with no dance training. He was not part of the dance line at debut. He's their lead vocalist. I think it was last year Hongjoong, their captain, said at this point it'd be ridiculous not to consider him part of the dance line. The other name credited is BBTrippin. BBTrippin are a dance choreography team from South Korea. They have been ATEEZ's dance mentors and trainers since before debut. They choreograph the majority of ATEEZ's work and are their dancers on tour and in many MVs. They also choreograph for other Kpop artists. The set was created for a drama and has been used by many artists as you mentioned. It's hard to believe you haven't reacted to them before. I highly recommend you do--they're incredible performers and since they have songs in many genres, they have diverse body of choreography. Comparing the dance practice of Guerrilla to Halazia or Answer (which Anze worked on) would be fun. Thanks for reacting to ATEEZ! ❤

As others have said - San is one member of Ateez that had no formal dance training/ he is 3rd degree black-belt in Taekwondo - which is why I think he is so flexible. Another FunFact: before Ateez debut their Entertainment company / KQ Entertainment/ sent all the members to train at Millennium Studios in LA for 1 month. The company has trained the members to be Preformers - all 8 members can sing & dance / and all the members have said that that training was the key to becoming the dancers that they are. And yes Anze Skrube is the one who choreographed some of their early- especially "Say My Name" BBTripping does their choreography now and are their back-up dancers for their stages & concerts. San is one who has really evolved since the beginning! You mentioned "Just Jerk" - it was May 2018 when I was first aware of Ateez (back then they were known as KQ Fellaz) and I thought that they were "Just Jerk" but now I am a HUGE Ateez fan (we are known as Atiny) Thanxx for attention & reaction

San has one tattoo above his right knee, which is a couples tatt with his soulmate band member Wooyoung (he has an Artist of the Month dance on Studio Choom). They also have specific choreo that shows up in Ateez videos, KQ does not hide Woosan. San is our Demon Prince & one of the three on the Ateez Demon Line. So proud of our Namhae boy. He went from nearly not debuting because he couldn’t dance, to being one of the most searched for fancams for up&coming idols. His stage presence is insane btw.

Wooyoung, who is one of the designated main dancers IN ATEEZ (though in ATEEZ, they’re all so good, even someone NOT designated a main dancer like San here is amazing as you can see!), has done this excellent Artist of the Month dance video on Studio Choom. Wow, it's not often that I get so invested in a dance analysis, like in this one! Thank you a lot for sharing your knowledge and for giving us a more intricate perspective on the performance. I found Ateez in 2020 and casually it was because of a fancam of San. Knowing that he didn't have any background in dancing before joining his company and seeing what he can do now, and how many people inside and outside the industry look up to him is incredible. San has something that it's very special for a Kpop idol, which is his capacity to completely immerse himself in his performance as much as he even forgets about san "the person" to focus on the character he is supposed to be interpreting. He gives you a story every time he steps on stage with his facial expressions which many "kpop fans" have questioned 'cause he doesn't care how he looks as long as he is portraying the correct expressions on his face. San was truly a breath of fresh air to the industry, and as I said before it's almost unbelievable to see how much his hard work has paid off. One thing I wanted to mention about the point of hard work and commitment to his craft is the way he was very skinny and not muscular when ateez first debuted, so he thought his body in that condition couldn't execute bigger and more powerful movements the correct way, so he said he didn't want to settle to have the dance moves to adapt to his type of body and decided work on his body to adapt himself to new styles of dancing and provide a better execution. (TMI: He has just recently been introduced in a new position (lead dancer) in the group, since his only official position was lead vocalist of the group.) Long comment... but thank you so much for your analysis and I hope we can see you reacting to more San and Ateez in the future! :)

One of my favourite Ateez dance practices is the Halazia 2022 MBC Performance Practice. It would be so cool if you checked that out. I saw someone else mention the performance videos they released before the debut as Ateez and you asked for the name of those videos, and I couldn't see if you got an answer for that so I thought I would say they were called KQ Fellaz at that time 5 years ago. There is 3 KQ Fellaz group performances and 1 KQ Fellaz Yunho solo performance. Yunho is one of the members who has been considered a main dancer since predebut and was originally the only member to have a solo dance performance. Another great dance performance by another main dancer of the group is Wooyoung's studio choom Artist of the month Bad cover performance.

This was such a fantastically thorough analysis! Hearing the perspective of a true professional in a field i have absolutely zero experience in is why i watch reaction videos, so thanks so much for choosing one of my current hyper fixations to react to 😅 I second all the other recommendations for reacting to more Ateez content. They are truly the kings of performance in kpop right now. If you're ok with watching other reaction content, i recommend the channel Catchingteez. She has a video on why Ateez's song Hala Hala went viral, and one of the points she makes is that Ateez actually performs their story without worrying about being sexy or cute or cool (i.e. the only stage personas kpop groups are usually allowed). They'll be nasty demons on stage if they need to, which when they debuted was a very new thing in kpop and tbh still hasnt been fully matched in level of commitment (the only ones who come close imo are Xikers, who are Ateez's little brothers at the same agency, and &Team a japanese group with insane synchronicity and a werewolf concept). San is actually part of a trio of members (the other 2 are leader Hongjoong and oldest Seonghwa) who've been called the "demon line" by fans for their duality and ability to transform on stage. Even their predebut hiphop dance performances when they spent a month training in LA are great exhibitions of their performance skill. Honestly you could pick any of their dance practices or live stages or music videos and have a feast to digest. I look forward to seeing u dive more in to their talent!!

Thank you for the cool, insightful reaction!! The dancer who comes forward for a brief moment is a BBT dancer named Dahan who often covers San's parts when their crew does Ateez choreography. Something I really enjoy is comparing Ateez dance practice videos and videos BB Trippin posts of Ateez choreography on their channel. I find the symbotic relationship between Ateez and BBT to be very unique and fascinating. Also idk if anyone already told you this but the very first Ateez content ever released was a series of dance performance videos that went crazy viral and helped launch their careers. Obviously, all kpop groups work hard at their dancing and have their own unique styles, but a really REALLY big part of ateez identity and success is intertwined with their dance and performance skills
