Yes they definitely upgraded the choreo. They now use this remix and choreo on tour now. Mingi's part is added back in. To make it more epic.

All groups had a budget limit to make it more fair since some came from companies that are a lot richer than others. Some like ateez were smart about it and re-used/rented props rather than build new ones. I believe they removed that limit after the first mission though because fans were upset at the differences between the companies who followed it strictly and those who got more creative with re-using old props making it look more expensive like KQ and JYP.

Now that you’ve pointed certain elements out during the Wonderland dance practice, I can see more clearly how this performance stood out and how including those missing pieces really elevated the energy and entire performance. Even though I’ve seen this Symphony No. 9 performance video a few times, I feel like I’m now watching it with a new set of eyes. Love it!

As others said, Mingi was on hiatus due to anxiety. (He's much better now.) Ateez tries to sing live as often as possible, but sometimes they can't (bad sound systems, etc). There's only a handful of groups that have the pull/senority to insist that they're live all the time. (BTOB and Mamamoo are 2 of them) The concept of this round (round 1) was called "To the world" - groups had to take one (or two) of their songs that they felt was representative of them and perform it in a way to attract "the world" to them. Also re: energy levels and time crunch: they were doing Kingdom right beside their comeback for Fireworks *and* with half of the members also filming on a drama called Imitation. There was a horrific time crunch when it was hard to get everyone together and able to perform... not to mention learn a new dance. They chose Wonderland for the concept but also because they already knew the dance and they didnt have time to really modify it too much. Oh! before I forget, the bone breaker dances are supposed to be jellyfish because Wooyoung got thrown "overboard" Still stupidly impressed that Jongho did that note while physically swinging all 6'1" of Yunho around. (Im sure that Yunho had momentum but that took some *strength*) Hehe you should see everyone else's reaction to that high note. That was the very second Eunkwang and Changsub (BTOB) decided to adopt Jongho 😂 I.N (Stray Kids) blue screened and had to reboot (it was very cute). on Yunho's fancam right before his part in the dance break, you can see him getting a little ... possessed. Ending Faries are kinda weird I agree. 2nd gens have *no clue* what to do for the most part. We've seen signs (Shinee), running away (Highlight), confused looks (Super Junior), doing an older choreography (2PM), members getting yeeted out of frame or being a sped up human metronome (BTOB, theyre technically 3rd gen but act like a 2nd) - 4th gens are much better at it lol

Yu are so m=NOT WRONG about 2nd gen on the ending fairies haha! Some of my favorite ending fairies EVER come from Shinee and 2pm for the reasons you stated haha!

To the point of them looking tired at the time ateez was having a comeback, kingdom and members were filming for kdramas their scheduled was very very packed which comes with hustle of small company groups have to do especially at that time when the pandemic meant touring was not possible at the time. If you are interested they did make BTS video taking you through the process where they talk about their input to the routine e.g seonghwa was the one who came up with the idea of the gun which now he has replaced with sword.

I just love your reactions! You are so informative and help me understand what I am seeing. It doesn’t focus wholly on the choreography, but the behind the scenes video for this performance is great. It shows how hard they worked and how much input they had on this performance even without sleeping or breaks from other schedules. You might enjoy watching it even without reacting to it.

ah I commented the actual Wonderland too soon xD But I knew you would like it more! They perform this version a lot and Seonghwa usually has a huge ass sword for his solo moment instead of riffle and it's even better in my opinion!

Their group concept is pirates, so that tied into this :). They have a whole storyline accross their MV's and albums, they're time-traveling, dimension-hopping pirates
