as much as the crown is a good performer and captivating. I personally still think waaackyyy won when it comes down to technique and she danced in her own style which is what the competition is about. I also think energy wise Waaackyy killed it as well

i loveee both waackxxxy and the crown, they both did so well! personally i felt like waackxxxy won the first round while he dominated the second. also the song choice for the last round was lowkey dissapointing in my opinion 😭😭

If you'll notice that they're close, it's bec they were teammates in a competition a few months ago. Their team won and Waackxxxy won best dancer too. I love that this battle was friendly, but I think the crown did a little too much referencing Waackxxxy's moves which were risky

This battle is so much fun to watch. Both are great dancers and performances. It's so nice to see them compete against each other, even more so knowing that they were teammates and I believe winners in a group dance competition in France

Honestly, from the perspective of the battle, Waackxxxy was already on a different level from the other participants starting from the round of 16. The Crown battle was seen as the toughest, and as you mentioned, his popularity and the fact that he is Black or American definitely played to his advantage. The dancers at Red Bull were already at a great level, but she was a seasoned battler and on another level, and the was just one of the battles she definitely had to win.

I will say that creative stamina was not something I was able to 100% utilize as a main factor of who won each match compared to the audience being able to see their exploration of movement to tracks over the span of time the top 16 were competing! So impressed with Whaackxxxy on these battles!!!!

Good video. Glad you emphasized how the voting is done by a general audience rather than experts -- choreographers, professional dancers, etc... You can't expect a general audience to break down technical aspects of dance, it's just a popularity contest. To me, The Crown was better - more variety, musicality, showmanship -- but they're both incredible, they both got great exposure from this. It's not that serious.

I want to go back and take a look to see if that’s an area I could improve in. I can also agree that my background isn’t as much on the battle side but more on the choreography side of analysis so I can always improve with watching these types of videos!
