I love The Rink skaters they are always willing to assist the young kids. The adults & teens jam on the rink. When my grandson visits in the summer he wants to go to The Rink. JB moves makes a non-skater like me dance & shout!

Anthony Taylor I live in SoCal now but, I'm a Chicago skater, Calvin just showing you the basics, that's Glenwood on a empty night, what you seeing ain't nothing, all the real good skaters not there. Greenwood would be so packed you couldn't have a All Skate.

My rink was on the Wisconsin/Illinois border, late 80's. Mostly white folks, shuffle skating, on speed-skates. I'm half black & white and I had speed-skates too. I had my own style influenced by shuffle skate, some dude that was doing like figure skating and my own flow, but one day some dude showed up and was JB skating and that was it! I already had a habit of doing everything at high speed, but then it was JB smooth moves at high speed.

Skate Key 1980's Bronx, N.Y. here. My wife (may she RIP) was an excellent skater, and I tried keeping up. Now my knees aren't what they used to be but I won't give up skating. Love this video and how styles are developed.

When I was like 14 in the late 80's some dude (at least in his 60's by now) showed up at my rink skating JB and that influence caught fire with me instantly. I already had people coming up to me telling me I was the best skater at our rink and in the next town... but that JB consumed my imagination and flow instantly. It was like something long lost was found, it all just fit and made sense and made my imagination go on forever with more possibilities. I was doing crazy stuff! I never knew there was a name or history to those moves. My rink was about 1.5 hours north of Chicago, and that's my little story of how I was influenced by the JB moves.

I’ve been to JB sessions at both Glenwood and the Rink. Loved both floors. I’m a Midwest country boy from about 3 hours from Chicago and the crowds and sense of community were awesome. Great vibes and people to skate with. Most fun skating I have ever had in my life and I enjoy mixing the music as well. Dope style.

I remember when I first starting seeing JB style becoming popular at my local skate rink around 2005 or 2006, I didn't know that it came from chicago or what the names of any of these moves were called but it was really fun anyways. Skate knowledge had really only just begun to spread on the net at the time, we just learned by seeing new people come into the rink and seeing them skate. Even as a advanced skater it's funny none of us ever watched a single online skate tutorial those times are really dead and gone lol. Seeing people skating and seeing new things makes me wish I could go back and skate again.
