Kajol never showed any skin and yet, in her prime, was sexier than any current leading heroine of Hindi Cinema...old truly is gold...these scenes made us, the audience, fall in love with these characters and believe that their reel love was in fact real...how many boys and girls understood what love was by watching these 2 beautiful people? I'm sure millions. They were pure, innocent, and treated each other with respect. They taught an entire generation what it was like to love and to be loved. May God bless them. None of the romantic films that Bollywood churns out these days have a love that feels even half as intense as KKHH did...maybe it was the music or the fact that its was in the 90's when people were simpler and we had fewer things vying for our attention... Saw a film called Luka Chuppi recently and tho I loved the casting and music, the love was laughable...the lead pair met and 1 song later they were in love...back in the day, filmmakers took their time to build up the emotions, the angst, the passion, until there was something worth fighting for. Today, love is just a word. And what does it mean? No one really knows. We just say it because apparently it's the most important thing. But what encompasses love? We have forgotten. Or perhaps what love used to be, back when SRK was romancing Kajol, is no longer relevant...because we have become too cynical and jaded to believe in it anymore.

This is actually so spot on. Definitely gave me something to think abt. Real world relationships influence portrayal of on-screen romance and vice versa. The definitions of love and its ‘izhaar’ has changed over time as culture changes. Its debatable whether if whats currently considered love is good enough to be called love but love stories from this era are definitely the more tantalising ones. This romance is what is still goals for a lot of people but its rarely found with this purity and simplicity, the world has become too fast to stop and think abt where any of us are headed or where what encompasses love is headed. This was thought provoking!

This scene is iconic in cinema history but is also quite significant if broken down correctly. Anjali's heart has been broken before by Rahul, she needs to be pulled back towards Rahul by him and he does. Rahul knows that his intentions have been made clear but she has not fully participated in this act of love. And so he lets go of the saree after one last plea to stop her. She's finally convinced that Rahul wants her as much as she does and she goes back to him. The best part is when she comes over to him, willingly, and runs her fingers across his face, like she wants him to feel her first ever touch again. The way he lets her fingers run through his lips ... is the seal of their acceptance of mutual love. I will never understand why people in their wokeness trash this movie saying he only fell for her when she wore a saree .. No, he grew up and so did she. That was not their time and this is. And how beautifully so.
