True. This is the first time Ive ever seen her & seen her dance, Camryn was graceful & beautiful & awesome. I can relate to feeling down & second guessing her performance cuz she felt she fell short of the expectations she set for herself. From this outsider's pov, she was Amazing!!!!! Breaks my heart to see her beating herself up like that!!! Having a steady support system is great, but even the best support system won't help if she doesn't believe in herself. I love that Cheryl Burke had a heart to heart with her. Her analysis was precise & objective, especially since she is a fantastic dancer herself & not obligated to sugar-coat. Cheryl told her what she needed to hear, as a professional.

I actually really admire the fact that Camyrn takes this seriously and understands the expectations she needs to reach. She's being called negative instead of her insecurities being validated. Most times being the darkest in the room comes with unspoken pressure and this child can sense energy behind words. To look her in her face and say that you feel she did good when 2 seconds ago you point out 2 imbalances she had says it all. Negativity is highlighted in those with low self esteem and nothing magnifies that more than microaggression.

I know, Abby just doesn't get that everyone has emotions and feelings, and it's not healthy to keep them within. Everytime the girls would try to show their true feelings and emotions Abby would belittle them and call them crybabies, especially with Mackenzie. But Cheryl is the complete opposite and knows how it feels, and truly has empathy towards everyone when they had self doubts about themselves. It's just amazing.

The dance industry would say OTHERWISE ! Dance moms has really manipulated the idea of what a good dancer is, to what ABBY feels is a good dancer. Camryn was the strongest performer in that group. Kalani & Brynn were the only two more advanced than her technically & she still was the stronger performer when it came to them as well. She was by far the most versatile & entertaining, & the only one who can pass for a commercial dancer in that group. None of those kids have Camryns style and that's what makes her amazing !

Honestly, I like that when your bad Abby will definitely let you know. This coach will just build up self confidence even when she knows it was bad she wont say anything. I know what Camryn feels like. Though I’m not a dancer I do play softball and for me no matter how good I do I never think it is good enough (thanks to an old coach 😒) it frustrates me so bad.
