Maddie finished the dance with an injury. She was seen after the dance going over to the competition people and telling them she was hurting bad. Of course the producers are going to edit it to make it look like she quit after falling. Hence the dramatic slow motion and suspenseful music.

If you work hard (as you already showed on Dance Moms) then whatever you choose to do as adults you will achieve it. I for one am really proud of each of you as I'm sure your loved ones are.
