You're right, she is extremly young, but at the same time it was very obvious that she wasn't able to keep up during practice. And I don't think it helps anyone when they say the minis are doing great while in fact some of them (in this case Peyton) aren't great at all. At least they didn't say it in front of the kids. Her mom can take it, I mean she takes part in a show that consists of 98% drama.
