I never said they were never used... aaand that's exactly the point: since it's not a new thing it isn't the future, unless they are used prominently and in a genious way.. but at that point I'd rather listen to electronic music, but that's just me I guess.. Metal always been a genre mainly based on guitar, bass, drums and vocals so, unless your idea of metal is just power metal, it isn't all about synths. Fact is that you don't need to scream genius at everything that sounds passable, you can enjoy even uber-standard stuff. ;)
