I remember reading and loving the original Goosebumps books. The closest story that was about a family road trip to an amusement park was "Welcome to Horror Land". The TV adaptation of the story, if done with a bigger budget and better writing, could have easily been a twisted, yet kid-friendly horror version of National Lampoon's Vacation.
