I was a kid when I firsr heard this..now im a dad and still listening. I met Tech and got a photo with him bout 10 years ago at an underground concert maybe 200 ppl, after performing this song which was the last of the night he said "People always ask me if this is a true story, and I always tell them, it happens every day of every week of every month of every year".

Given that you have The Noose on your recent playlist, that really says something about the impact of this song(I always preferred Tool, but that one Perfect Circle song really gets to me). I've been brought up on metal and rap, moreso metal during my teenage years.

Son is at the cross roads now. His step father was very connected in his early 20s and spend the following 6 years paying for it. He literally sat my son down and had a LONG talk abiut that life, and made him listen to this song. So that he would see it wasn't just his step father and I saying how twisted the streets are.

This song saved me from losing my soul to gangs and the thoughts in my head were gruesome. I have no friends or family and I’ve been trying to find people I could fit in with and ride with but hearin this broke me and stopped me from following through because after awhile you lose yourself trying to find brothers in demons and once you surround yourself with those demons they take hold of you and influence your every thought, movement and intent. This song helped me realize and open my own eyes inward to the path I was dancing along. I’m homeless bouncing from west and south side chicago and Gary and I’m trying to make family with people who’d rather had you a 9 to solve your problems instead of talking to you to

Aye FolKKs. They say if you can make it in Chicago you can make it anywhere. I hope you're still out there doing you. In the long run no one matters more than family, not family on the streets but your real family. The people who know what you're mom's n dad called you as a shorty. The people who were there when the lights got shut off and they came through with dinner and some paper on the bill.. Your real fucking family. Keep hustling and keep grinding brother. The Devil ain't real but the evil That men do is...

I'm a death metal guy, but when I came across this album in an underground store in São Paulo, I completely fell in love (I bought it thinking it was a grindcore album), of all the songs, this was the one that caught my attention the most because of the duration and the somewhat scary beat. Just discovered Immortal Technique, this is maybe the 3d or 4th track I've listened to, and was dancin' and grovin' to the beats and about half way through, the lyrics started taking over and I was riveted, just standing and then I was crying and then I was sobbing. Intense, incredible narrative and music making. Using the theme from Love Story (1969 1970?) was genius. I'm a white male 61 years old.

This song has stayed with me and still gives me the same chills as when I first heard it. I can’t help but twist my face in disgust at the ending. Every. Single. Time. Even though I know the ending it’s still makes me tense up.

This song is more real than most story raps. I agree with your final message when you performed this last year in Chicago. This is why it starts with the parents, we need to give kids the life we were denied, or this is doomed to just keep happening. It literally is just like a snake eating its own tail.

The truest Golden Age of Hip-hop. There is no other period in modern history that can even come close to the explosion of Poetries that littered the streets at the beggining of the 21st Century, no Poe, no Socrates, no magi no sage, unbeatable our legends will Reighn in hell where it's dark and hott.

This song is devastating and i listen to it from time to time to remind me that the choices we make mold us for the rest of our lives and i everyday hope and wish that no one has to relive a situation like this one... Thank you for all of your music Immoral Technique, you are a true inspiration and a true genius.

I heard this back when I was completely immature and doing graffiti. Unc Futura 2000 played it the first time I heard it! I couldn’t understand the message outside of the shock factor, but I’m now a 33 year old man and I now see the message. Be blessed during your green years if you’re getting this in your innocent time. Grow your experience I pray.

Weed is only bad depending on how you use it and what you use it for. If you use it on a spiritual level to connect with the world and life then there's no real problem. It's those who abuse it just to get high who have a problem
