Dance Your PhD 2022 OVERALL WINNER: Electroporation of Yeast Cells

This video describes the PhD research of Dr. Povilas Šimonis in an artistic way. 1st verse discusses applications of yeast cells and how electric stimulation can improve their efficiency; 2nd verse focuses on the insatiability of yeasts and electric pulses as a means to permeabilize their membranes as well as cell walls. The goal of permeabilization is to extract or introduce desired molecules; 3rd verse tells us that very strong and very short pulses can be applied to selectively inactivate yeast cells while keeping beneficial bacteria alive.

Holy cow, I've watched most of the entries for Dance Your PhD over the last few years, and this is without a doubt the most flawless execution yet! I think I should offer you a congratulations in advance! ;) Also, what the heck is going on with the time signature in the chorus? I thought it was in 7/8 at first, but did you just push the snare a beat before to the 3 and 7? It broke my brain a little trying to figure it out. So groovy!
