The problem with Kartel being the king is that he didn’t get the chance to deliver on a global stage like beenie did. Beenie was dj of the year 8 years in a row, won a Grammy, had major billboard and international attention while at the top. What Kartel lacked globally he delivered locally like none before or anything we had ever seen anywhere in music. It’s very difficult to place Kartel at the top while also very difficult not to do so. He’s like a fusion of what killa and beenie was. Kartel is the very best to ever do it, at the same time he’s not dominated a live stage which still holding him back. I agree with the lady, there’s a void at the kingdom

If we looking from a perspective of skill set Kartel is the man. Writes,produces his own music, singlehandedly evolved The genre from the simple rhymes and catchy hooks to infusing it with hip hop elements like lyricism and complex flows.most prolific and consistent hit maker. Only weakness is performance. But beenie have him weaknesses too. Majority of the songs he djs were not his they were bought and paid for. Also something to consider is that bob never achieved Grammies and accolades but he was crowned king. I am from Trinidad and Tobago and I never once stopped supporting Kartel...I consider him as the king...I remember visiting your country in May of 2017 for a graduation and on one of the days there we were going to Hellshire Beach, i think it was and when the driver of the taxi said we were approaching Portmore, I screamed in excitement, i said is this where Kartel is from, he said yesss.....I said oh my gosh...i am so happy...i must get a picture of a sign showing something with the word Portmore on it...Vybz Kartel for me is the greatest and I remember seeing him in 2011 when he came to our island of Tobago for Great Fete Weekend, We Fete at Pigeon Point Beach..it was the best Great Fete event to this day that i ever went and if i could turn back the hands of time..i wish that same show with Kartel could take place again..ah love Beenie Man who I think is a king in his own right, Mavado, Bounti Killa, Aidonia, Masicka ah love him real badd..skillibeng..skeng....teejay...valiant..but ah give Adidjah Palmer the accolade of KotD
