When this man dances it is a ballet pas de deux. It is figure skating on ice. It is ballroom! It is love-making on the floor. It is EVERYTHING! These two brought it all the way home together. ❄ Thank you for bringing heart, emotion, sensuality, and appreciation to women. It opens our hearts, as is so beautifully depicted here. I have often wondered why people hold back so much and why there isn't more of THIS. Thank you for crossing that invisible line and bringing satisfaction to your partner, as well as your audience.

I am so glad that I found this absolutely beautiful performance....it is exquisite! I've watched it over and over with tears and never tire seeing it! It is perfection!!! The emotions that both Slavik and Katrina have are so moving and loving. It touches my heart. I love everything about this and I only wish that there was more. Their emotions at the end when they are hugging each other nearly crying are so absolutely sincere. And if they somehow are not sincere, then this is the greatest artistry on the ballroom dance floor. This kind of emotional truthfulness in his dance partnerships is unique to Slavik and constitutes the biggest part of his charisma. His dance actually touches the viewer emotionally, not to mention technique, sense of taste in choreography, general aesthetics, etc. Well, I lost count of how many times I've seen this routine since 2003. In a way it's a pity they have ended their partnership. On the other hand, we wouldn't have witnessed those equally amazing partnerships with Elena and Anna if it had happened otherwise...

+Peter Chen In some sense I agree with you regarding Elena. However, it was a truly beautiful couple: a masculine handsome male dancer and a very pretty female dancer. For me their rumba "Les Feuilles Mortes" is on a par with "Cuando Te Besso" and "Always on my Mind". And, they produced perhaps the best cha cha ever - "Summertime".

Dance Affectionist. agree with all you have said. These two dance from some very special place and they create dance magic. Not enough is said how this beautiful, powerful and emotive this piece of music is and how much it contributes to enhancing this performance. Having said that even the best music is useless if you don't know what to do with it. No one I've seen uses music quite the way these two can.

Hi Lizzette. I cant tell you how many times I've watched this routine danced and in my opinion it's the benchmark of how to evoke emotion through dance. It's been some 15 years now since they first put this routine on the dance floor and it's still leaving audiences spellbound all over the world. you know when something is created that's truly unique, beautiful and very special when it can withstand the test of time.

In Latin, Slavik is my best and the only teacher; in smooth ballroom, I learned from Marcus the most and Mirko also. Because they are the most sincere, most talented and dedicated International ballroom dancers I have found. This Legend show by Slavik/Karina in 2014 is a redanced version of their 2003 version at Tokyo WSSDF show dance event...which means this time they met again after some 10 yrs or so...

Majestic - astounding - simply beautiful. I know no words to describe the beauty of this dance. I’ve watched it over the years and it just gets better. IMO, without a doubt THE BEST ballroom performance - any time, any style - of all time - no kidding. Dance simply does not get better than this!

the first time they've dance this routine on this music, i can't even explain how it made me feel so in love. It was my favorite routine in rumba and all the dances i've seen in ballroom. They did it the second time around and it made me feel the same thing before. its just.. this two.... tsk.

H..C So, you think timing is the secret behind the beauty of this unique rumba. I thought it had everything to do with dancers who can dance from the depth of their soul and not just with their body and feet. What makes dancing beautiful is artistry, not timing or technique, although they are the foundations, but not the beauty. When you fully grasp that concept you will understand what true dance is really about and its not what you see out in competition which is all you seem to understand.

Every once in a while, a partnership is just magic, and they were just that.
