Taeyang is how I fell down the kpop rabbit hole back in 2009. His music videos for Where U At and Wedding Dress were choreographed by Shaun Evaristo and Lyle Beniga who I was a big fan of at the time (still am really). You’ll see them in the Where U At MV. Definitely worth a watch! BigBang and 2NE1 back then worked with a lot of those SoCal (well, Lyle was from DMV but was dancing out here by then) choreographers.

English speakers usually pronounce his name as "tie yay-ng". You're first syllable is actually correct. Actual correct Korean pronunciation is 'tay' like from "Taylor" or "tailor". The "yang" part uses the short "a" sound like in "apple". "Yah-ng". You could lean it towards the "ahhh" sound that doctors have you do when checking your throat.

You really must watch Taeyang MV "Where U At" its from 13 years ago. The dancers with him were his dance teachers, both famous American dancers. He has worked with so many great chereographets anddancers in both Korea and America.

I am glad this took you on a memory trip . I love this performance video because all dancers get to shine . Most videos you got the artist and the dancers are treated more like extra , the focus is on the artist. Here if you dont know is Taeyang's song you could easy think he is a member in the dance crew. fyi..this is not 1st time YG and Bigbang hire someone that "big" name choreographers. in 2009 YG working together with famous dancer like Shaun evaristo and lyle beniga for Taeyang's song - where you at in 2012 for Bigbang 1st world tour concert, YG and Bigbang hire choreographer and creative director Laurieann Gibson to direct the show, Laurieann choreographed dance numbers for musical artists such as Michael Jackson,Alicia keys, Lady Gaga,and Beyonce and also they working together with Leroy Bennet for designing lighting and staging. Leroy is lighting designer who worked with numerous western celebrity like Lady Gaga,Ariana Grande,bruno mars,grammy award performance,Billboard performance,coachella and so on.. and all of this happen in 2012 for their 1ST WORLD TOUR EVER.. and they hire someone that "big" name in industry not just to show off but they want quality performance delivered to their fans.. yeah thats YG,always care about their artist's quality
