I am so happy you enjoyed this dance practice and got to see more of the formations and the kind of energy one can bring to a dance practice (although it is a bit different in this case since they were making a video). You mentioned that you are going to show this practice video to your students. If I may ask, what are the takeaways or points of emphasis you would share with your class? I come from a background of a lifetime of combat sports training and I just recently added DANCING to my list of activities as a change of pace and would just like to learn more about dancing from a dancers perspective. Thanks.

It would be the fluidity of motion in all members because how they move from one member to another individually, is still working as though they are all moving as one. Their movements together are sharp and focused. If you’ve done combat sports training- looking at the footwork and overall balance (starting from the feet up) will definitely help you!

YES!! This song always gets me hyped!! It's the Stray Kids effect :^) The special thing about them is that they contribute a lot towards their choreographies and come up with a lot of the moves themselves, so it has that bit of uniqueness that sets them apart from a lot of other groups! I would recommend Thunderous (the dance practice is really good, but i would personally recommend the music video just because it's my favorite mv of theirs lol), and Side Effects (the performance version for this one)! Some insane and really unique choreos as well!

Since you said that you can tell how long a dancer practiced, I'm actually really curious if you can tell which member of stray kids has been a dancer for the longest time ? Because all of them actually dance for at least 6/5 years but one of them was a dancer before an idol and was even à back up dancer so I'm curious if you can see who is it.

Oh gosh I don’t know 🫠 but the member in the black tracksuit wearing a beanie hat had ‘backing dancer’ tendencies (they are taught not to look directly forward at the camera and angle there face and eyes slightly) he would be my guess!

@@xiaouiris okay I think You're right, it's Lee Know he is the third one from the right during the second chorus. He is a called the dance leader since he is the one with the most experience, he started dancing when he was 10 or something like that. Then he joined a dance crew for 5 years and then he was a back up dancer for a little less than one Year. Being a back up dancer made him want to become an idol too so he became a trainee for a little less than 2 months before their survival show and 8 months before they debut.

@@xiaouiris To add to that, he's their dance leader in actual function, not name -- he guides them, helps fine tune their movements, schedules and leads the dance practices, and _constantly_ monitors them. The man has eyes in the back of his head; we've seen him in full monitoring mode, somehow tracking all seven others at the same time and catching every tiny flaw. He's also skilled enough that he deliberately holds back to match the group as a whole and only draw attention when it's his center moment, which I'm certain you, as a dancer, know is very much an actual skill, but which is surprisingly not grasped by waaaaay too many people. And he's a trained, experienced choreographer, so even though SKZ aren't their own main choreographers (though they do contribute), he nonetheless has that eye and knows what to focus on. Just as random trivia, that group for which he was a backup dancer when he was 17-18 was BTS -- who most definitely are not a group who will hire anyone but the best.
