At first, I thought the documentary was ridiculously intrusive and exploitative. But the thing I love about the XG members is they’re super transparent and honest. They’re not afraid to show their feelings and cry on camera.

You should follow this up with the two xg extras for hitc ny and la. The realization of dream in ny and the meeting of sienna in la is the perfect bookend I think to the doc.

1:15:11 XG have dance choreographer but they don't have dancing teacher they always practicing and discussion each others how to be perfect on stage lead by Jurin and Chisa for vocal and Simon doesn't 'interfere' he do other things. AVEX studio is so big but because XGALX have many activities in Korea they have to move their studio and office. 🐺

They recently went back to the traditional Korean place in a video on their own to revisit that memory.

There is no way anyone in the West could take the responsibility for their own performance and reflect on their own shortcomings, to improve. Then feel that responsibility for each other, to be a better performance

Simon doesn't look at them as daughters. He sees them as sons. He took his own experience and is sharing everything he knows to his girls but doesn't treat them as young girls. I suspect that we don't see half of what these girls do when it comes to being involved with the production of everything they've released. XG is looking more like soloists in training than just being another Idol girl group.

as is tradition, i had a very different take on simon's methods LOL to me it's meme level how not to fire people, dragged so far out, so much irrelevant fluff. and the documentary did it to us too! first we had to hear simon talking to the girls about talking to them, before that we even had to hear simon talking ABOUT talking to the girls about talking to them, and then we had to hear simon talking about it in retrospect! having that in and cutting out the good parts like seeing them dance, there's gotta be a better balance lol the other thing that really stood out to me is how little we see of this surrogate family - sienna is the first time we've heard one of the girls refer to one by name, never their dance coaches, vocal coaches, language tutors, makeup artists, stylists... a huge number of people they've spent hundreds or even thousands of hours with rendered nameless, invisible. i want to see cocona getting excited with her tutor when she finally gets a tricky Korean conjugation or whatever, i want to hear harvey gossipping with the person who's been doing her hair for a year and a half, really anyone to switch it up a little from simon telling them to work hard for the billionth time, but that's probably just me again LOL. oh well

Yeah just think you missed the entire point of the doc.
@Eric_Hofmann4 ай бұрын
@@michaeln3044 oh, quite to the contrary! i understand that the point of the doc is primarily simon hagiography, secondarily getting to know the girls, and only very distantly to acknowledge all the other people involved in getting xg to where they are today what i'm saying is i would rather it NOT be that lol, we should be able to hear the hairdresser's story and the fitness coach's story and etc., and ironically this would reflect BETTER on simon because he's the one who hired them, right? that's his actual job, not giving long speeches that at best don't have anything to do with anything, and at worst veer into abuse. but this is modern CEO culture, he can't just be a good evaluator of talent, he has to be a genius, at everything, it has to be all about him, even if this is to everyone's detriment... including his own. and like i've said many times, i'm really impressed and glad these girls happened to be strong enough to get past the barriers he needlessly put in their way, the world's a better place with the women of xg in it

@@Eric_Hofmann What a clown show response. As I said you didn’t get the point of the doc at all. 1. They clearly designed supplementary programming around the documentary that has been almost Simon non existent and contains the same title. This wasn’t an accident, it was planned for in advance. And focuses heavily on the girls and their own self driven content. 2. The doc is meant as introductory to the philosophy of the project, the implementation of a mindset and the adoption of it by the members in the best way. 3. You’re hinting of abuse and obstacles is stated from the perspective of someone with no insight clearly into the examination of higher level anything. It’s a different level when ur goal is professional elite, and it requires everything you see in this doc. Probably more. 4. The weird staff/ceo vendetta stuff comes off pretty pathetic. I don’t know of any doc ever that said let’s talk to the hair dresser and it’s pretty clear Simon isn’t grouped in with any CEO’s I can think of today in terms of treatment of his team. You seem to have direct issue with him and veil it in some nonsense takes.
@Eric_Hofmann4 ай бұрын
@@michaeln3044 i mean of course there's other stuff that focuses on xg, that has nothing to do with what this documentary we're currently talking about focuses on lol, and i didn't "hint" at abuse, i said it directly, because that's what simon frequently does, and all we have to do to determine whether it's required is look at how sienna got improvement out of the girls: when they weren't getting a specific side tilt quite right, she said 'hey do it this way instead', and they did. that's it! no florid speeches, no emotional manipulation, no mind games, just actionable advice given clearly and succinctly. it's just not that complicated, these girls were incredibly committed and astonishingly hard working long before they ever met simon, his claimed philosophy or mindset contributed nothing whatsoever to their success and check out Gaga: Five Foot Two if you'd like to see a recent documentary about a hugely famous female musician that does in fact talk to the hairdresser, not sure why you think that's not a thing lol

@@Eric_Hofmann Another embarrassing response. You should quit bro. It’s getting worse. Citing the evidence for why you have no point is a pretty solid way to have every point that follows dismissed. They respond to sienna because of the mindset instilled in them. They respond to criticism with a positive mindset because they were taught to use mistakes or difficulty as teaching tools and fuel. They self actualize and self reflect because they were given the tools to do so. They don’t all magically just regurgitate his philosophies and teachings consistently by accident…they quite literally say the exact things he highlights consistently in step. And cite the ability to work hard and through adversity as a product of this process. And you have no idea what sienna does or doesn’t do. She certainly gives plenty of florid speeches in the hitc behind the scenes. And as far as I can tell every member of xg openly and defiantly tells you what they think of Simon every chance they get. That alone makes this whole diatribe on abuse stupid. Saying you proudly double down on calling it such just makes you look that much more so. And yes the content surrounding the doc being designed to supplement the doc and openly killing your narrative piece by piece as it progresses is in fact important and planned. It displays a divided sense of intention that supplement one another on purpose and is part of the machine of xg. The doc is focused on the implementation of mindset and philosophy and foundation, the supplementary is focused on the girls who having gained interest via doc can now show their professional journey maximizing those tools we watched instilled. Oh good u found a hairdresser clip. Truly a dazzling display of retort and completely parallel to a journey defining a survival audition process and the formation of a new form of music and composition. You def nailed that example. Lol. 😂
