Hongkongers moving to the UK shouldn’t only consider cities that most Chinese tend to choose such as London, Birmingham or Manchester. Cities like Bristol, Exeter, Bath, Leeds and Edinburgh are nice cities to live. If you are pensioners or near retirement age, you can head south or south east to cities like Norfolk, Bournemouth, Dorset, Somerset, Cornwall. These are lovely coastal towns or country towns with plenty of sunshine and beaches.

Very good introduction of Bristol for people who are thinking of moving to the UK. You've covered most of the areas of concerns for HK parents like myself. Thanks a lot. Subscribed already and will find out more from your channel. Cheers.
There is a Chinese restaurant above Wai Yee Hong Chinese supermarket, if you don't like walking up all those stairs, there is also a lift that takes you up there. I kind of miss Water Sky Chinese restaurant. I miss yum cha. I wish I could move near to Cribbs Causeway to live but I know that won't be happening at all.

Lived in Bristol (Filton) for half a year when I interned at Airbus..For the past 7 years I have lived in a South Kensington, Elephant and Castle and Cambridge, but Bristol was by far the best place. It is very liberal (it voted to remain at a higher percentage than London), people are very highly educated, filled with professionals and for us HKers...its proximity to water and the sea was really attractive...House prices are very affordable (compared to London and Cambridge) and the houses, especially near Clifton are really beautiful. For retail, the mix of Cabot circus and St Nicholas’ market was unforgettable so I thoroughly agree with what the video says..the only thing for me was it is a bit far from London which is where most of my friends live (but the new trains make it so much quicker actually)..
@Helios7274 жыл бұрын
But one thing I will note from your videos, I will try not mention multiculturalism, or race, as a negative factor in where one lives. I have often found it more comfortable to live in communities with higher BAME minorities populations as those places are typically also more used to multiculturalism. I think it is more important to check for actual crime numbers (especially for violent crimes and burglaries).

sorry if it seems that way, I had no intention of linking multicultural areas to the quality of neighborhood. And thanks so much for your sharing.

@@波蘿包-o1o Sorry, I left Bristol for many years. But you can use www.rightmove.co.uk/ to look up. Find any house any area you are interested, click in and it will give you details of primary and secondary school ratings. The best is rated Outstanding, then Good. Your children can apply to school within a certain district. If you live in that district, you will get a very high chance to get in that school. You can also google search for the Outstanding secondary school.

Thanks for sharing videos about Bristol and I like your videos about how life is like in UK. Nice to hear someone talks about UK that comes from Hong Kong. I absolutely love Cribbs Causeway, I love the mall there. Everything I want is right in Cribbs Causeway no need to go anywhere else unless you need to go into Bristol city centre or you need to go to Chinese supermarkets and Chinese restaurants. I hope the Vue cinema and the Hollywood bowling is still in Cribbs Causeway I miss that. I miss shopping in Asda supermarket, there is also a Morrison supermarket, there is also a B&Q near Morrison supermarket this B&Q store is a decent size, so there shouldn't be a massive problem if you want things from there. From Cribbs Causeway mall to Almondsbury garden centre will take 12minutes driving, if you like gardening and plants and flowers anything to do with gardening you may want to give this a visit and plus there is a restaurant in there that you may want to try out their foods if it is still open because of this pandemic.
