I studied my postgraduate in London U some 30 years ago and lived in Stepney Green near Whitechapel in Zone 2. Very soon after I started living there, I came to realize that crime was a national concern.The first advice from my dormitory warden was to buy and bring a personal security alarm. Another advice was to keep light on and turn on the radio/television loud when we were out. All the doors in the dormitory were locked. Still, someone managed to steal in and take away the television set in the common room and some clothes in the laundry room. I lived on the 4/F. but my floor mate lost her party dress. Knife crimes in East End were prevalent . But my friends in Manchester U told me more crimes happening in her dormitory. Then, i came to know that Manchester was worse than London. Stabbings happened in Moss Side, Manchester. All in all, when living in Britain, it is essential to identify the troublesome areas in your neighbourhood and to avoid them.

(確實係多左東歐人黎英打砸搶，特別係吉普賽人，犯案率超高，因東歐人都可以操到流利英式英文，會難分辨佢哋係東歐人定真英國人) Btw, thieves are mostly from eastern European countries where they had immigrated to UK and easily transfer like a locals. It's not just happening in UK, it's also happening in France and Italy. Especially the people from gypsy where they sent underage kid to steal something to avoid law violation based on European child protection law. It's seriously a problem even though the local police arrest them all, that doesn't work. They will release underage crime and do it again. Which is why British citizens want brexit.

Thanks for your support. 窗花is really uncommon. Many neighbours wouldn't like it was it makes the neighborhood seem unsafe. I wouldn't recommend it. You probably want to talk to your neighbours about it before installing.

你可以在圍牆上加裝有刺的鐵絲綱和和警鈡在後面加裝一个振動器在後門上，如果有人撬門他振動就警鈡響，和屋內加多鈡比較響，他們會比較驚，會立即走人

有啲points真係有用嘅…smart wife👍🏼，但要留意樹木，係唔可以隨便斬咗佢，因為如果你想斬一棵樹都要同你嘅local council講/申請，如果冇好合理嘅理由但又斬左佢，咁有機會council可以罰你錢，又如果你真係想斬咗佢，最好就係搵Tree consultants 問吓可以點樣做，當然搵Tree consultants係會有費用，簡單講，就算棵樹係你個plot之內都唔代表你可以斬左佢。至於Alarm system, 除咗door / window contact 之外，仲應該加裝break glass sensors or vibration sensors, and panic buttons in various areas. Some alarm system can connect signal directly to police, but that system will be monitoring by security company meaning there will be a monthly fee.
