Love the fact that she bounds into the attitude and those balances fabulous.

Indeed... Breathtaking Her "Twilight" outshone many a ballerina in her prime.

She may not have the gymnastic abilities of today’s dancers but she has something those people will never have, presence like no other dancer

Sabia interpretar um papel com emoção para mim a melhor interpretação da cena do balcão em Romeu e Julieta com Nuriev das mais belas.

Incomparable Fonteyn and incomparable balances. No one does the backbend in Act 111 of Sleeping Beauty!

She’s always delightful to watch. Barishnikov is uncharacterically solicitous partnering her in le spectre!

Good that a great dancer can and will recognize someone who was even more: legendary grace🎆

She was the epitome of style and grace, It was truly kind that she supported her sick ass of a husband. That's what they mean by sickness and in health isn't it?

Yes, she has to pay for him and his care. That was the reason she was dancing so long!

Lalways wondered if she kept the Odette headdress for all her performances in this role, because it is so becoming, being graduated and not just a bunch of feathers!

Lovely! Thank you. After 1975 her technique had clearly diminished but all footage before Hamlet is lovely. Perfect Aurora and the more I watch her SL variation the more I like it. You didn't include her Juliet and Marguerite... Who's next?

Funny to think, with a technique like that, she’d not pass an audition for any reputable ballet company these days. Though I hardly dare say it, even with her technique in her hay-day, she’d not even be welcome in the core of a 2024 company. Technique is evolving at a truly astonishing pace! If you want to see what I mean, check out the young kids in their ballet classes at Master Ballet Academy. True, in her day, she was a sparkling gem, and no mistake. She was extra special, and will forever be - in some people’s hearts.

Interesting, when you consider that modern dancers, with their flashy athleticism and exaggerated extensions, invariably fail to move the emotions. Which is the point of balletic art, n'est pas?
