Felip was the first full-blooded Filipino to perform in the Grammy Global Spin for his Bulan a coupla years ago; Josh came second this year for his Yoko Na. Both are SB19 members.

I saw video of him doing the bboy thing in the SB19 early career. He did backflip a lot when he was part of kpop cover dance group. Before debuted with sb19. Btw, the guy wearing TUPAC Shirt who standing in the front at the beggining and lifting up felip at the end of the video is the Choreographer, Jay. He also did some of SB19 choreos : gento, moonlight, bazinga

Felip is actually a member of a kpopdance cover group where he does a lot of breakdancing, jumping and flying. So yeah basicallyhis dancing here is his own syle.

You should see the MV shot in the sand dunes of Ilocos Norte and they are doing this routine there. Also the Grammy's perf.

I saw many videos of Felip freestyling and it’s evident that his background is Krump. He’s from Mindanao and I remember when Krump was popularised, dancers from Mindanao are the ones who embraced it. example is the group “XB Gensan” I think most dancers in this vid is from XB. Most of their routine back then also includes crazy acrobatics. Felip also has been influenced by that, cause the man can literally Fly and Bboy. I agree with the part when you incorporating hip hop in today’s mainstream when most dances are commercialised. this is a breathe of fresh air.

Felip actually used this in the MV of Bulan, extra challenge dancing this on a desert. Bulan is about our PH culture particularly the god Bulan who won against the moon eater and saved his sister, thus the origin of why the changes phases. Thanks for the RV.

You asked for krump, your viewers gave you krump.😅 May I then suggest or maybe ask you if you’d be interested to see traditional & indigenous Filipino dances/steps integrated into the choreography…😅 I know you’ve watched Alamat’s Dagundong,” but it is in “Maharani” where the Filipino influences in both the music (traditional/indegenous instruments) & choreography are more evident. “Maharani” for me is the best, if not, one of the best, representation of the Filipino culture seen & heard in any Filipino/OPM song. And their muse in the music video is Bini’s Jhoanna.🙂
