The powers of the earth, sky and water respond to the intention of the elders' dances and songs, but they cannot rescue us from our continued mismanagement of these lands and rivers. Everything is connected. We must stop exploiting our resources without any consideration of the health of the land and the rivers, or of each other, then waiting for someone, some government, to rescue us. The Elders call on Mother Nature's help, but she will not help us if we don't take responsibility for helping ourselves.
