i understand what people are saying about the cha cha. i think the difficulty of going first is that. also i think @anna makes a good point about the simple clean choreo to showcase the actual dance. Val is smart in doing that. and really i think his choreo this season is very technical and more like how he'd show off a pro dancer. if you watch it the second time around it was just really so effortless and smooth with all the complicated steps.

If Zendaya would've been in team Samba, team Samba would've been the Encore... I'll agree she was the best membe of team Paso, but team Samba worked better as a Team, which if I'm not wrong is the point of the Team Dances

I think you guys (excluding Anna) sound very mean-spirited and petty. Why are you assuming that people wanted to see the Samba or even liked the team Samba more. A lot of people in imdb (a lot of them not Zen fans) liked the Paso better. That's just the audience and what they like. When Zen got the encore for Jive I don't recall anyone else's dance being better. You guys are acting like Zen is going out every week and doing rubbish and getting praise. She is getting it because she deserves it.

Take another poll sweetie. Even a good portion of Zendaya's fans who tweeted during the show were saying the samba was better. Frankly, the point of team dancing is dancing in synchronicity. I like paso better than samba too, which is why I was so surprised how out-of-sync the paso was, since samba is the one that's a syncopated dance. If you're going to judge dancing for dancing, then you're going to have to be objective. But overall, Andy got three extra points and Victor left, so I'm happy.

You just said "I checked it DURING voting" ever think to check it AFTER the voting was closed? Either way, I saw #EncorePaso trending worldwide and the US and it would also trend anytime Zendaya came online because her fans (2 million followers) wanted to get noticed and retweeted by her. I voted for #EncorePaso but I wasn't taking it seriously at all. Why would anyone take it seriously? It's all in good fun. I wanted to see Team Paso again but if Team Samba won I really wouldn't give a shit.

Personally, I enjoyed Team Paso over Team Samba. Higher Ground is my favorite Stevie Wonder song, I like the Paso better than the Samba and I was just overall more entertained by Team Paso. I don't think it should have been a question of who's dance was technically better or whatever, we have the judges for that. I think everyone (including myself) voted for which dance they wanted to SEE again. I wanted to see Team Paso's dance again and so I voted for them. Simple.

If they switch prom, encore, etc. dance voting to facebook that wouldn't be fair either because Zendaya would just tweet asking her army of followers to vote there and she'd still win every one. So that needs to go back to the judges. The highest score would have been the best way to pick this team encore.

I think generally most people vote for the best dancers and sometimes there's an exception due to fan base sizes. I don't think competition voting should be eliminated, only twitter voting for encores. What would be more fair for the show voting is if the judges can save someone who danced better than others.

I agree that it's good for the show to engage fans in social media. There are other ways to do that besides the unfair (most followers by far wins every time) voting for the encores. Fans already do a lot of tweeting with #DWTS etc. Instead of prom, encore, etc. voting they could have twitter and facebook voting to pick songs, themes etc., and twitter and facebook contests for autographed items like photos of our favorite dancers.

But I don't think they should attack Kellie in response. It's not her fault. It is super disappointing to see grown adults bash a teenager. It baffles me. I just get so sick and tired of ppl attacking Zen. Why can't ppl just vote for their fav and hope for the best. Why do they have to bash contestants (and they are bashing her personality because they can't find much fault with her dancing).

It's not even about weather or not they praise her but this whole thing ppl talking about the network pushing Zen, and adding the twitter votes to favor her. Any attention she is getting is because she deserves it. Roshawn was a disney person too (actually on the same show as Zen) and I don't recall him getting attention because he wasn't very good.

@Anna Trebunskaya Very interesting re: Valdaya cha cha cha and Val's treating Zendaya like a fellow professional in the way he is training her. I understand what Suri meant because the first time I saw the dance I was like "meh". It was good, but after the AT it was a little anti-climatic. But after listening to you Anna, and watching it again I realized that she is just executing the complicated choreography rather effortlessly.

Just because someone has more followers does not mean they will automatically win more votes than the other contestants. When twitter decided which two pros would dance together on the results show Val beat Derek but Derek has more followers than Val.

The point is that everyone did not vote, only some twitter users, and 1 dancer has a huge unfair advantage there. If the team encore vote was call in only, team Samba might have won. I'm not convinced #encorepaso got more votes than #encoresamba on twitter though. I saw #encoresamba trend worldwide for awhile and as high as #3. Later I saw #encorepaso briefly trend only in the US and low on the list. Plus a couple of other things like a higher rate of incoming tweets for #encoresamba.

Well Kristyn I would not be surprised if she is having a growth spurt: her Mom is 6'4''! BTW I think Zendaya and Kellie are evenly matched in terms of natural ability. Each also have advantages unique to themselves. For example Zendaya's ability to embody the character of her dance is phenomenal; Kellie's flexibility and comfort in her womanliness(yes I made up a wordLOL) allows her to add nuance which may be missing in Zendaya's performances.

Competition voting has nothing to do with twitter encore voting, it's 2 different issues. However I can see one dancer winning most of the encore dances helping her get more fans and show votes (some call this "pimping"). "All of red America" isn't voting for anyone. Wynonna is a country singer and was voted off in week 1. When you have 2 top dancers like Kellie and Zendaya about even in judges' scores, it's the little things that help win the mirror ball.

I think people weren't too excited about Zendaya and Val's cha cha because they went first and there was nothing to compare their dance to. I know when I first saw it, I was kind of like "that's it?" but then I rewatched it on youtube after watching Monday night's episode and thought it really was good. I'm glad Zendaya and Val went first though because now all the people complaing about her never going first because ABC is pimping her can shut up lol.

I agree with this. I only watch dances I like. Like for Kellie I didn't like the quickstep at all. But I've noticed I just don't like quickstep in general..lol. I have NEVER liked a quickstep number, even when I liked the couple. I thought Kellie's Jazz was her best dance so that's the one I watch when I watch it on youtube. I liked all Zen's dances so I watch all over and over. I feel like Zen fans are reacting to negativity a lot of ppl are throwing her way.Just look on the DWTS facebook page.

I just like Paso more than Samba in general and I preferred the song in the paso. There are many reasons someone would prefer the paso over the samba.. other than Zendaya being in it

Yes, Team Paso may have had $600,000 more Followers than Team Samba but when Jacoby and Zendaya won the King and Queen of the Prom (which was also a Twitter vote) Jacoby has 44,250 Followers and Zendaya has 2,382,651 followers ~ huh?? Ingo, Andy, Sean, Victor all have more followers than Jacoby so that was clearly based on the actual dance. Do, I think the bigger fanbase you have can carry you to the final or semi final ~ YES but I do still

The prom vote was seperated into male and female. Jacoby only has 44,315 twitter followers because he just started using twitter 2 months ago. He won anyway because he's the best male dancer by far and probably has the biggest fan base of all the males being a huge NFL star who just won a Super Bowl. The twitter voting issue is that Zendaya has the most followers by far plus teens and tweens use twitter and vote more so she wins every twitter vote. Team Samba's dancing was much better than Paso!

Uh, I agree Zendaya deserved the encores when she was on her own, but I'm sorry -- that team paso was a mess. It was actually shockingly bad, because paso is definitely the easier dance of the two. And actually, team paso didn't trend until Zendaya sent out a tweet to her followers. Zen's great on her own, but please try to be objective.

Actually the show didn't reveal how many tweets either team got & it depends on how they count them. Hashtagbattle is interesting but not the only tool that counts hashtags. Also you have to check during the voting, not now. Look up hashtracking, I checked it during voting & #encoresamba had 987 and #encorepaso 443. I don't agree that the encore dance means nothing. I'm not making it into a big deal, obviously it is a big deal to many viewers based on the many tweets & facebook posts about it.

and also if we want to be absolutely fair then we should eliminate people voting all together cause fans of the stars vote for those they love regardless of the dance... of course there are fans of the show who vote for the best dancers but i mean they are not the majority. so the show being a voting (popularity) game eliminates absolute fairness. that is that, i feel like we go back to this same issue every season only to reach the same conclusion we did the season before.

believe that this is based on dance and the majority of viewers aren't on Twitter. I personally hated Team Samba and loved Team Paso but I did not vote on Twitter and I have a Twitter. The group dances are always about entertainment for me and I think if they had a Viewer vote on Team Gangnam Style versus Team Call Me Maybe ~ I think Gangnam Style may have won!! I think Kirstie Alley's over a Million fans carried her to the final 2 in her Season which was way more followers than any other

On imbd, Zendaya's biggest hater ( and she has a lot on there for some reason) preferred the Paso and almost everyone (except 1 person) who frequents that message board thought the dances were equal in score but paso was more entertaining. Are we going to talk about how some people have advantages because they were on a show with millions of viewers (The Bachelor) and has lots of fans. Or some people a singers and all of red america could be voting for them to stay in the competition. Twitter means very little when it comes to actual voting. Look at X Factor, often times the person with the most twitter followers gets sent home before someone with much less followers. So y begrudge someone an encore when it means nothing overall?

No they are right on the money. Both times team Paso was a hot sloppy mess like the judges said. Poor Kym almost broke her hand putting on the brakes when Ingo awkwardly slung her around on the floor in the encore dance. No matter who you like better, obviously team Samba's dancing was much better than team Paso's. Even some Zendaya fans said team Samba is better & a few desperately tried to claim Paso is better. Most viewers want to see the best dancing & most on DWTS facebook liked team Samba.
