Great info for beginners. Why do people leave bad reviews for this. Its pretty niche. If you dont like bongos, why are you watching? I find it quite amazing that someone with absolutely no interest in playing the bongos would watch this and leave a comment. Did you search for boobs and bongos came up by mistake. If you dont like what your watching, turn it off and watch something else or read a book or go for a walk. Have a life!! Im interested in learning how to play the bongos, so this is very interesting to me.

I stumbled upon your video in a first grade class today. They wanted to see the Drum video! We all think you are a wonderful teacher! I love how you define your words and take your time. One of my first graders picked up this rhythm right away! We had a GREAT time! Thanks for great content!!

Excellent introduction. Many advanced players have trouble understanding what it looks like for beginners, but you show people how to layer the sound by adding complexity to an underlying simple pattern.

This is exactly the rhythm that my music director at church was trying to teach me. Thanks to your video I now know what he meant. I'll be playing it tomorrow.

Best-sounding, most clearly presented instruction I've found here for playing the basic 'Habanera' pattern on bongos for beginners. Unlike many teachers,, this drummer plays with a clean, slinky, fluid style, rather than with a wooden feel and muddy or imprecise tones. And his bongos are tuned nicely. Kudos, Al Dworsky! I have played congas at an intermediate-advanced level intermittently for 15 years, and I have now found a tasty "in" to approaching bongos, which I need to do both for their portability, and to use them 'non-traditionally' or folklorically for accompanying kirtan groups and various improvisational settings. ⚡ Many thanks 🔴⚫🎱

Reading some of the comments here from a month or two ago, you'd think this guy is some sort of bongo anti-christ because he doesn't play EXACTLY according to the basic bongo patterns. So?!? Plays very well and I incorporated some of what he does into my repertoire, good video, by comparison I make him sound very traditional...

I’m a life long musician. With injuries from an accident I’m finding hand percussion my only unaffected ability. So, buying new percussion ( hand types). Torn between a cajon or bongos. I do music therapy as well, so bongos and other hand percussion seems more accessible. This video, explains what I’ve been know to do, but with appropriate info to do it better, thank you.

My fellow bongocero, make passionate love to your drum as often as you can. I hope you master your instrument. There are a number of instruction vids on utube such as Micheal Miranda and Bongorilla to name a few. As a matter of fact they each have numbered lessons you can pull up and save to your utube library for easy access. My own drums keep me awake playing in the wee hours of the morning quite a bit. Anyways enjoy your drums bruh. 😎💪👊👍 #Bongoseros4Life
