DAN Slappies are super super fun especially for old skol OG 90 skaters or 45 year old plus skaters like us. One TIP -You just got be very careful especially going your full push speed while doing any slappy trick , because the faster you go the harder you fall, but the best feeling ever - Like John Cardiel, Penny, or Wray - fast speed GOAT Legend skaters. Fast VS Slow makes a huge difference in the adrenaline feeling and buttery long slide or grind of the slappy trick once you gain confidence . Most important the older we r we cant get up as fast as we were young or heal as fast. Love the shirt DAN. RLTW

You can do any slappy with an injured back. Your back will never get better unless you have surgery, so just do the damn slappy. You will have back pain until you are dead so fuck it. There is no excuse to not do this trick unless you have no legs. Even then people with no legs figure out how to do it.

Hell yeah, the tutorial i needed right now. I can land the odd one but can't get it consistent yet. Mind you the curb i skate regularly is chunky. The weight distribution thing is a big tip. I'm 48 and only got back into skating last year... I'm loving learning slappy tricks because the less i have to ollie the better haha. And they're just so satisfying and tricks that seem attainable to me at this stage. Thanks!

Nice VLOG Dan at my local park down the st. You got to check out my slappy clips on my channel at that park. Slapping the loading dock to small ledge is super fun, especially the double kick ledge by pump track nobody skates at all. You can slappy noseslide the double kink ledge at a super fast speed. I am still recovering from broken ankle there. NICE TUTORIAL for crooks. Same way I do them.

Any vertical curb is just more toeside pressure. No lift. No floating above the nose til it locks in. Taking your foot off of the tail completely is what will help people force themselves to focus on the toeside pressure.

Dude, the weight on the INSIDE of your heel is going to make a big difference for me. I notice my crooks are inconsistent on ledges and round rails (but I do them every try on my old element square flatbar) and I think that will help me hold them longer.. I imagine the same thing applies on frontside crooks? Inside of your foot but towards your toes… It could be placebo, but I feel like that is going to help me a lot rather than popping up and just trying to focus on my whole heel and sticking.

Dude, I want you to do a 1 month boot camp of ollie into every grind trick. You can't use the " I slappy because I'm old" when you have the bag of tricks you got. Nothing against slappies at all. They are cool and fun, but I just think you have the standard oil name "chops" to do all things (through christ) in the form of an ollie. Forgive my rant, I am a little drunk tonight and old and cantankorous - misspelled for sure.

The scary part to me is committing the weight on top of the ledge and trusting that both of my wheels don't end up going over the curb/ledge. That's a spooky fall when it happens.

Boardslide yank over is the Dan inspired trick I been trying off and on for like the last few maybe 6 months now some days better than others but never successful😐. Seen an old keen ramps tip vid and been trying to apply some of those but there's a teeter-totter cross hop motion I hadn't figured a good lift out on just yet. We'll get there tho. I like the tip vids
