That is awesome! Here I am killing all my dandelions off because I despise them. I just received an email from a friend who makes dandelion coffee. Using the roots and putting them in the oven to dry, then grind and viola your coffee grounds are ready. Apparently it makes the house smell like you are cooking brownies. That I must try to

I'm just making this for the first time since I made it as a child with my Gramma. It's May 2022. I'm reviving my pantry with nostalgic recipes. Next week Spruce Tip Syrup; then Clover Jelly. The Depression we're all about to experience will renew these gifts from Mother Nature. 💙

Hi! Once the jars are cooled will they become more of a honey texture? Versus the liquid look yours had at the end of the video? Just putting them in my pantry is that okay, or do they need to be put into the fridge? Thanks so much. I am so intrigued by this And would love to make the jam and the honey!!
@TwinCitiesAdventures
@TwinCitiesAdventures 4 жыл бұрын
Just treat them the same way you would if you bought honey at the store. Every liquid that is hot is going to be more runny and as it cools it will thicken.

Why did one go straight in the fridge and the other were in the hot water bath? Any particular reason for doing that?

The one I put in the fridge is to start eating right away. The rest went in the water bath because I want to reserve them for later use.

Unorthodox but interesting. What does the green stuff do to the flavor of your honey? I thought you couldn't use anything but the yellow petals? And don't you have to submerge your jars under at least an inch of water? I'm newb, that's why I ask.
@TwinCitiesAdventures
@TwinCitiesAdventures Жыл бұрын
You can eat every part of the dandelion. Try not to use too much of the green parts because it might make it a little bit tart.

Can the dandelion heads be dried when making the honey recipe? I see I don’t have many dandelions growing right now😢😂
@TwinCitiesAdventures
@TwinCitiesAdventures 2 жыл бұрын
That is a great question and I am not sure of the answer. If you want to find more dandelions you should just get in the car and go for a drive and find an area that has a lot of them you can kind of tell if it is an area that is natural versus possibly a corporate business that might use harmful chemicals.
